How about more games with these teams? Who's on your list?

East Carolina
UNC Charlotte
South Carolina
Maryland

As you can see, I've focused on NC teams and traditional rivals.

Elon
VMI :)

Speaking of VMI, was there any connection to UNC in the 90s? I remember UNC played them several seasons, including a trip to Lexington.

Maryland would be fun, but the ACC-B1G probably causes conflicts.

Personally, I'd like to find a solid team pass Kansas to play for a couple years, since we're no longer playing UCLA or Texas annually and potentially UK too. I prefer to see at least one school with a storied program on our OOC schedule.

Kinda what I would do, maybe not Md but would love a North South home & home with SC. I wouldn't add more competitive games honestly, I think a less challenging schedule allows a team to build its confidence stronger for the conference schedule. Feast on lesser competition and build that killer instinct and winning mindset and go in to the conference slate with a more aggressive mindset.

East Carolina is coached by our own Jeff Lebo, so that's a good reason to add them.

I just noticed that Mark Price is coaching Charlotte. As some here will remember, he was a terrific player for Ga Tech back in the Bobby Cremins era. This apparently his 2nd year.

I assume that teams who play us on a regular basis can use that as a recruiting pitch. The players they get may not play at UNC but they get to play UNC.

I would never play Maryland again. They are an ACC traitor and should never be given the time of day. I won't even wear underarmor any more due to them.

How many games do we have non conf? 12?

Kentucky
Indiana
Arizona
Kansas
Ohio State
Baylor
Washington
UCLA
Gonzaga
Villanova
Xavier
Michigan State
Ouch.

Love the competition but if our team ever loses 2 in a row, we could go into a serious tailspin without at least the occasional "recovery" game.

Speaking of Arizona, I watched some of their game yesterday. Markkanen didn't shoot that well, but I would love to have him on our team. Not that we really need him that much this year (if everybody stays healthy and develops normally). And he'll probably be OAD. But if we could have him next year, wow!

I still like them. And I like having a game in the DC area.

That said, I'd be happy to add Georgetown for that DC game.

Have we ever had regular season games against Georgetown? I know we've met in tournaments. And we've had secret scrimmages with them. But I can't remember a regular season matchup.

Seems like a no-brainer if we aren't going to play UMd but want something in that market.

Markkanen went to the wrong school to be showcased properly. But, I am pretty sure he is OAD and didn't want to play behind someone.

You could lose 6-7 games and still get a 1 seed with that schedule tbqh.

Penn State, on the road. That way I would only have to drive an hour to see the Heels play.
