So many people have voiced their opinion this season why the team has not played up to their unfair expectations and there have been many such as: A Inexperienced Head Coach, lack of a bench playing, the starting guards taking the majority of the shots, zero defense, and the one that makes ZERO sense to me that the team plays with NO HEART.

But as long as the list and suggestions may be I feel the biggest problem has been the lacking of a CONSISTENT wing player. What a difference this team would be if they had a Harrison Barnes, a Danny Green.,a Al Wood, a Justin Jackson, or even a Manek, McCants or J Williams.

The squad basically has played 3 against 5 all year as they have gotten very little production from Black, Nance and Johnson which has resulted in Bacot being double and tripled team and the guards being FORCED to carry the team and to take the majority of the shots…

It does not take a nuclear scientist to figure out and see that without a consistent shooter from the wing like Manek was last year Carolina has become a one dimensional team.

So continue to blame Coach Davis for the teams shooting woes or the lack of playing the bench or Love for taking so many shots because nobody else wants the responsibility to take shots or just the matador defense the team plays but NEVER EVER say the team PLAYS WITH NO HEART because the real reason is they are playing short handed with hardly any production from the wing players.

Give this team a quick/fast ball handing PG that has the pass first mind set, that can shoot but looks to get his mates scoring as his first option, that is strong with the ball and we win big. Give us a wing (3) or a stretch 4 that can consistently knock down the long jumpers, we win. We have neither of those ready to play ( we actually have both IMO but they are just not ready to play yet, they are freshmen).

Dsouthr I agree with you a true point guard would have taken pressure off Love and Davis to run the team allowing them to concentrate on shooting but if the point guard is not even going TO LOOK TO SCORE that hurts the team even more especially with little scoring already from the wings. If Love leaves then maybe Cadeau comes on board to add both point guard skills and some proven scoring…Maybe the portal will bring in a shooting wing. Let’s hope so anyway…

He didn't have to talk Leaky into coming back a year or recruit Nance to come to UNC. If he knew he needed more shooting, why didn't he go in a different direction. Or are you saying he thought Leaky was going to become a perimeter threat in his fifth year or that Nance could fill Maneks shoes and was wrong?

To be great? Needed a PG who can set the tone on both ends. Needed someone more stable than Caleb. Needed someone better than Nance if you're going to play Leaky. To be great, this team probably needed much better players maybe 3 positions.

To be better... This was a 3-point dependent team where nobody who attempted at least 50 3's shot 35% from 3. So we needed a couple of guys who shoot around 37% this season from 3. Things would've been different then.

The gamble was that Caleb would shoot in the high 30s from 3 this year. If he shot in the high 30s from 3 this year, we're probably a different team. He proved last year was a fluke and in reality, he's somewhere in between what he shot as a freshman and last year. And I would think his 31% from 3 this year is misleading. A lot of garbage time production. In reality, he's probably a 28% 3-point shooter in non-garbage time minutes.

Everyone will rail on Nance and he's been pretty bad. But Caleb has attempted over twice as many 3's as Nance. He bears the. responsibility. If you're going to shoot that much, have the balls to take the heat if you miss.

Love and Bacot carried the team in the second half

I agree about the wing position, but if we had Cadaeu at the point even as a freshman we would be better neither Davis or love can handle that position all they want to do is shoot, and we see what that has got us it is tough as a Carolina fan to see us shoot so poorly every night, and nothing changes!

PG that does not look to score, I am guessing you are referring to Seth? As I think I shared, the freshmen are NOT ready yet. I do think they could have been at least more ready by now with more early season PT, with more consistent usage in positions that feature their strengths but that didn't happen. Yeah, Seth is really shooting shy right now, watched him in a recent game miss 2 wide open lay up attempts, he has zero confidence in his game right now, he needs a off season more than any other guy on this roster, actually all 3 of the freshmen do.

Caleb is a good enough point guard to win as much as I hate to say it. He can at least score majority of the time. And his 3 point shot is getting better each game it seems.

The main issue we have right now is we don't have a 6th man that is stepping up. Nobody is coming off the bench to spark a run. Yeah, Puff can do it SOMETIMES, but we need someone consistent. Last year 4 of our starting 5 could score. This year we only have 3 of our starting 5 consistently scoring. We need someone else to step us as I've said all year to make up for the scoring Manek provided.

Seth got the confidence smacked out of him the first Virginia game. He was getting better and better until then, and then WHAM!

And while he hasn't looked bad, he's never gotten his mojo back.

It's very unlikely that he'll have the reverse experience tomorrow, but we can hope.

If he had gotten more PT and development he would have likely shown much more progression. He's already listed in some mock drafts. He also seems to have a much better handle and one helluva lot better defense (and size) than RJ. Chalk up another one for hubcap.

They would have 4 less loses with the same exact team had Hubert just Got one player ready for double digit minutes

Just a 8/5/2 guy would have been fine
