Either in person or was televised . . ?

Mine was the March 16th, 1968 East Regional Final versus Davidson . .

I'll never ever forget one of Sir Charles Scott's greatest performances, as we were down 6 at halftime . . 34-28. Tar Heels scored 42 points in the second half to overcome that deficit and move on to the Final Four.

What say ye, Heels' fans . . ? What was that single game that was the greatest of all in your lifetime . . ?

Thanks for the share . .

Some big cat alumni who were friends of a friend gave him two tickets. As a UNC fan since about 1958 when I was 5, I offered him $100 to go with him. He knew what it meant to me to witness the first game in the arena named after my sports idol, and he let me have the ticket for free. It was one of the highlights of my life. We got drunk as lords afterward. Good times.

I detested the LOM as soon as he showed up on the d00k campus and my feelings for him had only intensified by this time. And they have done nothing but get stronger with time. The difference is, I didn't really dislike Alarie and the rest of the players, my dislike was , and continues to be, centered around Knight Lite.

Scott, if I may ask, how old are you, my friend . . . ? 65 . . ?

Last years game in Memphis vs UK. Loved beating them to go to the final 4.
Took my son & daughter to the game. Great family experience!

What a game to witness, my friend . .

Thanks for the share.

I was also at the 1995 in Birmingham vs UK. Cool thing about that game was I got to meet my hero, Coach Dean Smith. I got a ball autographed by him.
That was my all time favorite game but getting to experience that win with my kids last year was amazing.

I am envious . . Coach Smith was one of a kind, and there may never be another like him, ever.

UNC/Georgetown NCAA Finals 1982 just because Dean finally got his first title.

I was so happy for Coach Smith that night . . James Worthy put on a performance that I will never forget. Yes, Michael hit the winning shot, but, Big Game James was an absolute beast that night that the Hoyas simply had no answer for.
Appreciate the share . .

First Duke vs UNC game I ever saw in person. Simply known by most Tar Heel fans at the game with the most memorable and best missed
alley-oop ever! The DES was rocking!! No smart phones with social media to distract fans like today’s world.

Doesn't get any better than #1 v. #2 . .

Thanks for the share, JAH . .

March 4, 2006, 83-76 WIN: CRUSHED JJ Reddick's Senior Night!! Freshman Hansbrough scored 27 points and iced the game at the line. 1st win @dook since '01. Loved the big smiles from Papa Hans and the celebration and emotions from young Tyler when the horn sounded and he knew how big that one was.
The night Cameron became Hansbrough Indoor Arena!!

Billy I love this thread, you got me thinking and I do have another to add.

The comeback against Florida State as we came back from 21 with less than 12 to go in the Smith Center in '93. The place went absolutely nuts!! I am actually re-watching the game right now, what a WIN!!

I'll be 65 October 13th. Been a Heels fan since I was about 5.

BGJ was incredible. He will always be one of my favorite Heels.

Great thread, brings back so many great memories. I feel blessed to have witnessed so many great players and to watched two of the all time great coaches work their magic on the sidelines for almost 6 decades.

This is my favorite too. I watched it that night on March 4 at home. My wife was pregnant and went into labor so we went to the hospital to have our baby girl. During this exciting process of having my daughter, we had the tv in the room on ESPN and it replayed this game at 3 in the morning. The doc and I were watching the replay in between contractions. That was a GREAT night for this Tar Heel fan and hopefully a future Tar Heel Alum. I will never forget this game.

It was in person and it was against Clempson in 3 OT. I brought my 8 year old son with me. We kept the streak alive.

Go Heels!!

High schoolers these days need to watch the tapes of this team and see what Roy can do with good Freshman. They scored over half the points in this game

[/QUOTENO DOUBT... ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER. I can see ole Sammy Cassell laughing and playing around at half time.

05 Natty for me. I remember 93 but I was only 10 years old so didn't really process how hard it is to win.

After 12 years of waiting, I threw a huge party in my college apartment for the game and when Marvin scored on that put back I went NUTS. Most fun I've had watching a game.

The greatest? Honestly...Villanova '16. One of the greatest games in the history of the sport.

Just happened to be the most miserable.

I was at Phil Ford's final game in Carmichael my freshman year, sitting in the rafters. Another one I remember vividly is the game against Moo where Dudley Bradley stole the ball right as were about to lose and laid it in for the game winner. A bunch of us were watching the game in Manley Dorm on campus, and we just went ape. The whole campus went crazy that night.

I sat right behind the Carolina bench in Carmichael in a game against State where I think we were up 21 at halftime and just barely hung on to win. Yikes!

One of the more memorable games for me (not greatest) was taking my dad (who passed about a year ago) to The Dome for the first time, but we lost to Iowa (I think) that night. That team had JR Reid on it.

‘78 my dorm mate had tix to go to state for unc/state. (His brother went to state) There were prob 6 heel fans there. Unc went up 40-19 and place was so quiet u could hear the sneakers squeaking. Then state came back 2nd half. Place was fuking beserkers. State takes the lead with like 30 secs left then dudley bradley bricks a pt blank shot next time down for unc. (No time out from dean of course). Clyde austin is bringing the ball up with seconds left and the lead. Game is over. Austin takes a peak at the clock and bradley picks his pocket and goes down for the dunk and the win as time expires. When we got back to campus there were numerous sofa fires on frat court. Toilet paper everywhere.
