Traveling back to FL, stopped in Hogansville GA, some local drive in, I think I got a steak sandwich, took a bite and tossed it in the trash!
I was in Costco and the damn sample lady stuck a seaweed crisp thingy in my face, and my family dared me to eat it. BLECH! That was some nasty shit! Two or three other dudes that tried it were like me trying to spit that crap out as fast as possible. And that God awful taste stayed around for a loooooooong time.
It wasn't voluntary, but as a child I was made to eat pickled beets (if that's what you call the things that look like little hearts.) The first one made it to my mouth and then I threw up all over the table.
Never had to eat pickled beets again.
Later figured out that I don't like anything that involves white vinegar. Balsamic, I can handle.

I love sauerkraut, but I know a lot of people hate the stuff. Bratwurst and kraut is one of my favorite dishes.
Obviously you've never had them cooked right.
That's a possibility. Nevertheless, they are still the worst food I've ever eaten.
Ate at Duffy's Seafood in North Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago. Friggin horrid. I asked for sweet tea and it tasted like crap. Shrimp were so uncooked and greasy, I asked did they have the grease turned on when they put the shrimp in. Manager acted like I had no clue what I was talking about. They asked if wanted something else. I said yes, I want to get the **** out of here. I'll never go back.
He must be referring to that nasty South Carolina que.
I can vouch for this. I've had greens that were terrible and I've had greens that were great.
Collards cooked with fatback then a little hot pepper vinegar on them. A few slabs of cornbread and its on like neckbone.

Agree 100%. I am even picky about needing to pick generic, little taste mushrooms off of supreme pizza. To me the texture is gross, they look like leeches, and if you can taste or smell them at all - they make me think of what it might be like to eat a leech, mold or a fungus. Nasty!mushrooms... yak! can't stand those slimy toad urinals
