i work at a condo complex on a busy hwy. every day the school bus stops here at the entrance and every day several cars blow by the bus with arm extended and lights flashing. Its infuriating. The parents waiting at the stop and the bus driver all yell and shake their fists but it seems hopeless it will stop.
Yesterday however when six cars blew by without even slowing a highway patrolman was waiting down the way. He blocked the hwy and waved all the cars over. The parents cheered. I cheered. Nice time.

Saw a school bus get pulled by the cops once for using the lights and stop sign to make an illegal uturn. Best day of my life!

As much as I hate school buses, I’m happy to hear those jerks are getting their come uppins. Personally, I won’t pass them. Instead, I’ll just get so angry at the fact they let kids off, drive 100 yards and let more kids off (like, why can’t those 3 kids walk 100 yards to the other stop?). I usually cuss and scream obscenities at the bus, the driver and the kids. But I won’t pass them.

one of my great pet peeves is the idiots who dont know the rules and come to a complete stop for a school bus that is on the other side of a four lane road with a turn lane in between .... going 65 mph and then have to slam on the brakes. though it is awesome when the lane that i'm in is clear in front of me and i can cruise on by - and i'm sure they're screaming at me.

On the other side of the coin there’s the idiots who insist on pacing the school bus in the passing lane after its stops preventing everyone from getting around the damn slow moving roadblock and insuring we al endure every single stop.

Is there an unpaved median in the road? If so, the opposite lanes don't have to stop, but probably should slow down a bit and be alert (we need more lerts!)
If there is not an unpaved median, you have to stop in FL.

No, it's paved all the way across ... in NC you don't have to stop if there is a turn lane between the four lanes.
