As far as big men where would you rank him. I would put big smooth in my top 5 rankings as a center.

he and worthy are favorite carolina players ever...he's a top five post player ever for me.
i remember as kid thinking nobody had longer arms and narrower shoulders...and he ended up as a really good pro.

When you remember, who Sam Perkins matched up against during his era, he's top 3 (and my favorite Heel of all time).
I would have him number one except for Tyler H. Montrose and Brad D were horses down low but Sam Perkins could play inside as well as outside he was tremendous free throw shooter in crunch time and even with his slim frame he gobbled up rebounds.
These are always difficult questions. Are we ranking in regards to "who had the best UNC career?" or are we simply asking, "who was the best player?" Because Tyler clearly had the best career of any center we've ever had. There's really no disputing that. But I wouldn't necessarily say he's "better" than Perkins. Make sense?
Perkins was hands down the most talented Center. I'll never forget him dunking on 6'11" Wake center (Jim Johnstone I think) He was in the paint and appeared to be doing a baby hook but it just kept going until he dunked it with that amazing wingspan.
IIRC, Rosenbluth would classify as "big man" so I would put him just behind Hansbrough, Rosenbluth, and Worthy.
