A few years back, I suspect everybody would have mentioned Gary Williams as the ACC coach who routinely did the most with the least. Other recent contenders include Jamie Dixon and several guys who have passed through Clemson.

Times have changed. Gary and Dixon are gone. So is UMd. So who earns that plaudit now?

My nominations are:

Most with the least: Buzz Williams
Runnersup: Tony Bennett, Jim Larranaga

Least with the most: Leonard Hamilton
Runnersup: Sure, I'd like to put K and Gott in here, but they really aren't. The worst in recent years was Sidney Lowe, but I'm not sure who else should be considered among today's coaches.

Why Hamilton? Because just about every year I look at his talent and pick FSU to finish higher than they end up finishing. Year after year after year after....

I definitely agree with Hamilton doing the least with the most. IN a odd sense I think you could find a few that felt Roy didn't as much as he was expected to with many of his kansas teams. The general impression of Roy before coming back to UNC and I would suggest even after winning his first natty was that Roy's forte was as a recruiter rather than as a bench coach or developer of talent.

In an odd twist Roy has had to deal with not being able to recruit the best of the best for a while now and may have put in his best coaching jobs in these last few seasons when our talent level was not what some o four rivals were getting. The odd twist is that Roy, IMO, has gone from being maybe in a does less with more to a does more with less guy, been good to see. Adversity that Roy has faced IMO has pulled the best out of him as a coach.

Least? Anybody coaching GT not named Bobby.
FSU right there too. How do you have that many 7 footers and NOT make the dance? Gott also has to be on that list along with many more who have coached at mooou since Coach V.

More? Roy :), The U coach, can't spell. Buzz so far
