Who was the most athletic pg to play at UNC.

Kenny "The Jet" Smith and it's not even close.

Edit: Didn't listen to the lyrics in the song....hopefully they're not offensive to anyone.

IMO, Ronald Curry, amazing athlete, may not have been the best PG but an amazing athlete none the less.

Envy has the correct answer to this question, and Kenny Smith is it.

Tommy Kearns.

He was so athleitc that at 5'11 he jumped center against Wilt the Stilt.

Larry Brown is another. He was so athletic that at 5-10 he was able to punch out that original Dook punk Art Heyman, who was 6-5 and about 210 - and a goon, the type who could have worked as muscle for Bugsy Siegel.

Seriously - if by 'most athletic' you mean all around, it may have to go to Ron Curry. If you restrict to most athletic on the basketball court, I think I would go with Kenny Smith or Phil Ford.

I get the sense you guys are wanting to answer the most athletic as in the best player that was really athletic. If you are just talking athlete, pure athlete, at the PG spot in every aspect of what defines a great athlete, meaning strength, speed, agility, then I don't understand why everyone is not answering it Ron Curry, as I have.

Curry was an amazing athlete, between his getting hurt and some friction between the basketball head coach and the football head coach at the time, we really never really got to see the best of Ronald Curry on the basketball court. Had he just played basketball for us and nothing else, IMO he would be cashing NBA paychecks now days.

Ronald Curry wasn't that great of a hooper though! I understand that he was athletic as hell and it's impressive that he could play PG at UNC, during down years, BUT he wasn't much of a baller IMO.

I'd take Lawson but only because I'm only 27 and never saw The Jet play.

Down years? We spent several weeks rated #1 when he was starting PG. The team made the final 4 once while he played. The down years came after he stopped playing.

Curry was MVP of the McDonald's All Star game. He was a super athlete n 2 sports.

Based on HOW THEY PLAYED IN COLLEGE it can't be Curry, Dave.

But mikey, that actually wasn't the question the OP asked. He didn't ask anything about how they played, he asked who was the most athletic, being the most athletic does not have much to do with who the best player was. I mean, I could easy say JP was one of the maybe 10-15 most athletic players ever to play for us but I am not sure he would be in my top 100 best players.
