Which high-ranked player do you think we'll get that we aren't given much chance of getting?

To help spot those we aren't given much chance to get, here are the 247 predictions (for those who care to look at them):

Carter 100% Duke on 18 predictions
Bamba 71% Duke 9% UK on 14 predictions
Washington 38% UNLV 38% UK 15% Texas 8% UNC on 13 predictions
Knox 100% Duke on 12 predictions
Wilkes - 56% UCLA 33% Indiana 11% Cloudy on 9 predictions
Vanderbilt - 62% TCU 19% UK 12% Texas 6% Kansas on 16 predictions

I'm throwing my vote to Vanderbilt. He just looks like a Carolina player.

My impression is that most people here seem to think we have our best shots with PJ, Knox and Bamba, in that order. My my impression could be mistaken.

Hate to be negative...

Vanderbilt--not coming to UNC
Carter--Duke lock
Bamba--not coming to UNC... Michigan got first official 2 weeks ago. Michigan or Duke, with others looking in from the outside on their knees doing the James Brown chant "please, please, please"!
Knox---50% chance to UNC with the other 50% to Duke
Wilkes--already eliminated UNC
PJ Washington--25% chance to UNC. Has official visit to UNC on 9/24

Bottomline, there is little chance, if any that Heels will sign both PJ Washington and Knox. IMO, I think Knox is the the best bet and that will be a battle to the end with Duke. If Duke signs Bamba first, then Knox leans to the Heels.

We won't get both PJ and Knox. I say 50% chance we get one of them.

Also, UK is definitely a factor in Knox.

Here we go again with this...

My no-insider-knowledge opinion (which let's be honest, is the same amount of knowledge as anyone else on here) is:

-Carter going to Duke (just commit already to put anyone who thinks we even have a snowballs chance out of their misery).
-If Bamba also goes to Duke, then our chances with Knox are good (Carter, Bamba, and Knox can't all go to Duke..... right?). If Bamba goes to Michigan, I'd imagine that opens Knox up to Duke.
-PJ seems to be our best bet at this point. That official visit will go a long way to determining if he's ours or someone elses.

Haven't heard enough about Wilkes or Vanderbilt recruitments to make a reasonable call on them.

If Bamba doesn't go to dook then it won't be UNC that he picks , our best bet with Knox is for Bamba to go to dook . I think we have about a 25% chance to get Washington or Knox. I think a lot of posters don't think UNLV is a factor for Washington , but Dad being right there worries me. I will throw up in my mouth if dook gets Carter , Bamba , Trent and Knox. I do think they will get 3 of the 4.

I will be SHOCKED if Carter and Bamba play for the same school...

Curious..why not?

While I do not believe we will get both of them, they are guys that are looking to play 2 different positions. PJ is a power forward and Knox is by his definition a wing and in truth, PJ at the 4 for us would help more than hurt our chances with Knox because Knox would know we are not going to move him to the 4 spot. I believe what Justin does and Theo are Knox's primary concerns with us, PJ would not be a road block for him.

Visit went well, his folks and PJ like UNC, the education offered, our tradition and that included our brand of basketball...

1. PJ
2. Knox
I think these are our best bets with the list given. I say get them both and add 1 of Stokes, Brooks, Huffman and smile all the way to the Tourney!
Roy is the Man!

What about the 8'1" volleyball guy from Iran, now he's a sleeper recruit if ever there was one!

I heard that there was this really big English guy who acts a bit that still has some eligibility.
At least I Fing so....

I would love to see this. One of them would get them back into the NCAAT, maybe with a good run. Both could produce a contender.

It would also let Amaker make his case to replace K at Duke, assuming he has any interest in doing so.

OTOH, do OADs really care about the academics?

Word up here is that he's down to UK, Michigan, and Harvard...yep, apparently Harvard actually has a real shot here.
Yep. Some have scoffed, but I've heard pretty consistently that Hahvahd is still in play for Mo and for Wendell, although perhaps not as much as it was a couple of weeks ago concerning the latter.

And I am still scoffin on Haaaaavaaaad !!! LOL

Could be. Michigan's academic rep could be a factor.

Actually he reached out to Michigan exclusively because of their business school, not even going to tag that as opinion because that is fact.. Actually, IMO that is the huge hurdle for Ky, I don't think the kid is impressed by their educational opportunity, have heard he likes our business schools as well. I was told but will not swear it is true that when asked about the academics at Ky his reply was "it would be great if I wanted to repeat high school".

Priceless.

Ya know what folks, Kal could well end up whiffing on his top 3 targets for this class, Ayton, Bamba, and Carter. I think it has cost them PJ with their making PJ feel less of a priority. Ayton is now off the board, Kal let Carter slip to K, and now Bamba is on his own reaching out to Michigan and don't under estimate the fact that the kid reached out due to their business school. Kal IMO will end up with either or both of Richards and Preston, serious talents on their own but not nearly what Kal was looking for and if he isn't careful they could slip away.

To once again answer the OPs question, my sleeper is PJ! We have a much better shot there than many realize, I am not calling this a done deal yet...not just yet...

maybe we will land Washington and Knox.. I mean the roster situation is likely to open up perfectly for that scenario. I know its a long shot but.......

I still worry about Texas in this scenario...
