Will Leaky play PG for North Carolina

Point forward, runs the offense from the SF position. Guess that would be semantics because he would be playing PG on offense. Pretty sure he will be defending the opposing 3 on defense.

He'll be a primary facilitator, kinda like Theo. He won't be a primary shot-creator. Like Theo, he'll be at his best alongside a scoring guard - he pairs nicely with White.

He'll probably guard 1 through 3, depending on matchups.

White isn't really a PG either (although he may play there some). But yes, Leaky's best future lies in playing a Theo-like role from the Wing.

Nah.

We have Jalek next year then Francis coming in after.
Beat me to it... and ideally I expect Jalek to be our full-time PG next season with KJ as his main back-up. Now, knowing Roy and what we have to promise some of these prospects these days I suspect he'll give Leaky and/or Coby shots at some PG minutes, but neither likely has a future there.

Also, if it looks like Jalek is gonna be 2AD I fully expect Roy to go after an additional legit '19 PG.

I think Coby is just such a natural 2 guard that he may just give him the Ellington role. Doubt he'll see much PG.

Agree with you on the additional '19 PG.

But man...I think Jalek is going to open some SERIOUS eyes this season. He's going to be one of those that the national media is idiotically going to say "an underrated freshman going into the season blah blah blah". I wouldn't be shocked to see him OAD.

I think we're a real contender if (and only if) Felton is OAD-caliber. His off-the-dribble ability would take a ton of pressure off of Berry and help replace what we lost in Jackson.

Dammit! Just like I told @Steat , bite your tongue! ;)

Seriously, that decision I believe will come down to whether Jalek is happy here. Could he leave after a season as a back-up and get drafted? Probably. But from what I have been consistently told, he came here on a mission to put his own stamp on the program he grew up loving, and never has really talked about being OAD.

Unless he can't get past working for what Roy expects of him here I suspect we get Jalek for at least 2 seasons. Young Felton wants to run the show and put his Jersey in the rafters beside Uncle Ray's.
