Will Shaver Entering Transfer Portal

This is best for him. He is slow, unathletic, overweight, and currently can't do much because of an injury.

Don't think he was ever going to be more than Blue Steel.
 
There are some mid majors out there who would give him an opportunity, whether he succeed or not, it's on him. Still wishing him the best going forward.

Maybe he could go to a smaller school like Platek did where he could show off his skills and not been under so much pressure of playing at a blue blood program

He was always a long shot for significant playing time. Good luck to him finding a good fit.

He may be able to latch on at a bit higher level then Platek, I wish him well.
 
I thought lots of excitement when he committed to UNC. What happened?
 
Hubert has a ton of room for portal players.. we should EASILY be able to find at least a couple real good players from there to pair with Davis and Bacot. I think I am the only one wishing for Love to come back also.

We just need a good stretch 4.
 
There will plenty of guys in the portal who would welcome the chance to play at Carolina. Davis will have his pick, but he needs to be selective on finding the right players who can compliment the returning players. Guys who want to win, and prove they are good enough to wear the Carolina uniform. Still do not believe that Love will be around once next season starts.

If he goes out and pulls down another 3 star Justin Mckoy type I will go ape shit !
I hope we get the Timberlake kid . I also hope we pick up bout 3 additional guys.

That I can agree with, hope he learned from that miscue.
 
So gets hurt unc fixes his injury and to say thanks he leaves. Oh well not gonna miss him since he never played other than a hand full of games.

He wasn't going to play. Bacot, Washington, High, Brown, portal targets, other recruits... he was going to be Blue Steel his entire college career if he stayed at UNC.

Hopefully, he can catch on with a mid major somewhere and continue to play basketball. Just was not a player who could contribute at this level, even when he was healthy.

A lot of basketball players want to play basketball. Andrew Platek seemed to enjoy himself getting 27 mins per game this season at Sienna.

Of course Platek also got his degree from UNC before he left.
 
Someone not working out is vastly different than a coach making a mistake! Both Nance and McKoy were highly sought after recruits who were in good programs with good coaches and competition. Neither worked out to the degree we wanted, but UNC was in a long line of peeps vying for their services!

I wish Shaver much luck in his future and I hope he knows he is always Family!

No, you are not the only 1 that wants Love to come back, my thinking on this has drastically changed over the last few weeks, I now better understand the position the kid was in, Caleb was not really the problem, the way this team was structured was the problem. I think we are better if he comes back.

We were McKoys 3rd team. PSU, uva, then UNC. Seems like an evaluation error on the staff. Same with Nance. Who was the recruiter assigned to these young men.
