After seeing the most recent ESPN mock draft this morning where Brice was not in the top 15 it made me wonder if Michael and the Hornet braintrust would now consider drafting Brice if he was still available when there turn came up. I watched a bunch of Charlotte games last season and the team's biggest weakness was very clear and that except when AL Jefferson was in the game they had no front court players who would try to score from inside the paint. Yes Brice still needs some muscle to deal with some of the beasts in the NBA but the Hornets need somebody anybody who can rebound and score with his back to the basket. The Hornets lack of rebounding and lack of easy points is so frustrated to watch. They made Whitehead look like superstar with all of the offensive boards he got in the playoffs against Charlotte. How important was Tristan Thompson for the Cavs this year just rebounding and playing defense. Or Kurt Ramis during the Lakers run or Rodman for the Bulls doing the dirty work to help their teams win championships without getting the headlines. Seems like a this possibility would solve two MAJOR PROBLEMS for the Hornets...what do you think?

Heck I wish the Hornets take all three of the former Heels. Get J.J as undrafted and let Ewing work with him daily. Add Paige as backup to Walker and of course picking Brice. Hell, that's would make my year. Go Heels!

FWIW, Whiteside had the 7th highest efficiency rating in the league. He was a star in my book - led the league in blocks, 3rd in rebounds, 3rd in field goal percentage. He was more deserving of an all-star appearance than Gasol or Horford. He does, however, have a bit of attitude which might be what's holding him back a bit.

As far as Charlotte and who they should draft, you always go with the best available player - especially if you're not drafting a high pick because no one in the late first-round is projected to be a starter anyway. So if MJ and his staff think Brice is the best available player, by all means, take him.

Currently, they are projected to select Thon Maker with the 22nd pick, but a lot could happen before Thursday night. Drafting Brice would certainly give me another reason to root for the Hornets. Regardless, I hope he goes to a team where he can get some PT.

Slightly off topic, the Celtics(my favorite NBA team), is in great shape with the #3, #16, #23, #31, #35, #45, #51, and #58 picks.

That same link has Brice going to the Clippers at 25. Could be an interesting fit there, coming off the bench behind Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan. Plus, he's been known to finish some alley-oops, so as a member of Lob City, he could do well there.

I would love it if the C's came out of this with Marquese Chriss (3), Brice (16), and Maker (23). If 2 of those 3 ended up being solid picks we'd be set in the front court for awhile (although that would probably spell the end of Zeller in Boston). I imagine they'll take a wing/SF at some point though. As long as they don't take Dragan Bender or Kris Dunn at #3 I'll be ok.

Dam Boston, has rack the hell up on draft picks. However, I'm sure they will trade at less 3/4 of those picks off for future picks or cash. That's a entire dam team. That's four 1st rounders'? That's crazy.

Zeller, would do very well in San Antonio. Boston, can't keep all those drafts so again, I expect them to do a sign and trade.
