wtf. Why are we playing at Ga st?

They opened at South Carolina - an SEC team, so was that their "superbowl" or is a home gm vs a P5 their superbowl?

But, say the (mostly basketball-first) idiots at UNC who seem to have no understanding of how Major College Football works, 'Ga St plays in a converted Olympic stadium. Now that is as big time as you can get.'

We need an associate AD for football who is a good ole boy from an SEC state who attended an SEC school other than Vandy or UK and who worked in at least 1 SEC (but not Vandy or UK) athletics department.

The only case for playing at a G5 is that its location is one we'd like to recruit and don't have a rival located there, or maybe even a P5 team. Say, playing at SMU or Rice is not terrible as both have nice Major CF history and DFW and Houston are major areas of recruits. But Ga St? They've played about a dozen years total, and we go to Atlanta every other year.

Heels should have 3 home non conference games every year. Get in a rotation with Tennessee and two other P5 schools for the away game. ( Penn St, Illinois in my example)

Example:

2023- Home- Tennessee, ODU, Ga.State
Away- Illinois

2024- Home - Penn State, App. St, William and Mary
Away- Tennessee

2025- Home- Illinois, Army, ODU
Away- Penn State

They have 3 home non-conference games 3 of the next 4 years which include games with SEC/B1G.

Tennessee has backed out of multiple scheduled games. It would be pointless to schedule anything with them until they get a new AD.

Scheduling is easier when you're a titan or a cupcake. Teams in the middle, like us, have a tougher time.
This is true. It can be harder to schedule when you are a middle of the road team. I think you'll see that change some now that the playoff is expanding. Teams will be able to lose a game (two if you're an SEC team) and still make the playoffs.

Now that the Big 12 has lost its only 2 giant moneymakers and fan bases, OU and Texas, it will be easier to schedule Home-Away with any of those schools. For strength of schedule, Big 12 teams all need 2 OOC games against P5 teams.

Hope so!

Bubba should be contacting them and ready to cancel crap games to ply Big 12 teams. Ignore the ones that are in areas lacking recruits. You want to play Baylor, TCU, TTU, Houston, and Ok St. No need to play KU, K-St, and Iowa St.

The problem is we can't force them to play us. That's the issue with football scheduling. Nobody wants to schedule a game where you might get beat if your goal is to make the playoffs. That might change with an expanded playoff, since you can afford a loss and a win would be worth more.
