2-0

I dunno... but, my biggest concern is the status on those guys who were injured tonight.

That is a concern for sure. I don’t think Polino will be be back based on the way he was ‘escorted’ off the field

In the words of wrestling legend Ron Simmons, "Damn"!

I love it, and can't wait until the next game!

Go Tar Heels!

Just a quick thank you to the accn for giving me a whole lot of fsu last night and no Heels. Seriously? Hope La-Monroe won!

Unfortunately, FSU lucked out when La-M missed an extra point in overtime.

As for the game, I wasn't able to watch on tv as I'm on vacation and it wasn't available where I'm at. But I was able to watch it from the beginning on my tablet thru ESPN app, since my tv provider carries ACCN. Just a thought if this happens again.

Can you imagine being that kicker?? Oof!

Good for the Tar Heels, we have a guy that likes to block kicks! Right up the middle!

Saw the app, will give it a try next time. Nephews daughters b'day was nice tho...:cool:

How long can we hold on to Longo and Bateman after the season?
That does become a worry. I think Bateman is in for the long haul. He knows that paired with Mack, he can be DC of an ACC champ in the playoffs. Plus, he knows he is not ready to be HC yet.

Longo might be a different matter. There was talk last year among Ole Miss fans that he was actively trying to secure interviews for HC jobs. What bothers me about that is that he is a NJ native, and the Rutgers job surely opens this year. How much better can Rutgers do than an NJ native who has been an OC in both the SEC and ACC?

I'd really love to see them both stay through 2021, when the depth on the team should be fast approaching Clemson-level.

I would hope they know that Mack will not be HC long term due to his age. I believe he gives the keys to Longo or Bateman. I know i'm looking way too far ahead but we have seen good DC's and OC's get plucked away.

Mack is why we are 2 and 0, not Longo or Bateman. Mack is who we need to stay as long as he can!! Heck Brewster, Thigpen and Bly are probably our best recruiters and they need to stay and they will. Mack knows what he needs and wants as OC and DC and he'll get the right ones if Longo or Bateman are foolish enough to leave quickly.

Mack signed a 5 year contract, and I'm sure he expects to remain as Head Coach for the duration of his contract as long he remains healthy. The Durham Douche is 72 and has stated he has no plans to retire, so it isn't out the question that Mack can coach into his 70's as well if that's what he wants to do.

I'm so glad Mack is the leader of this program and I will enjoy his current run at UNC for as long as he's here.

Go Heels!

Mack is the same age as nick saban (and a year younger than Roy). Nobody is acting like saban is on his death bed. Plus I feel like having a few years away from the game was less stressful on Mack.. He's back where he is happy and he's having fun. I see no reason why he couldn't coach for at least 5 years.

The key will be when he does retire that Bubba (or whoever the AD is then) hires someone to keep it rolling this time. Don't pull a dicky B and ruin the program for the next 10 years with lame-azz hires.

Really strong points. I don't think Mack is the same person or coach that he was when he left Texas. A program like that could run anyone into the ground. Mack talked a lot during his press conference about everything he learned while working for ESPN. He has a new perspective on coaching, and I think he found his fire again. If he truly wanted to coach again, he is in the perfect situation for him at this stage of his life.

I feel confident that he can do that based on how well he has done here so far. The athletic department has improved in almost every aspect. That being said, hiring a football coach is probably the hardest job an AD has and it's basically a crapshoot unless you're at a point where you can be a destination job. Mack almost got us there last time. Hopefully he can do it again.

In the sense that Mack is HC, that is true. But on the ground, it is Mack + those 2 coordinators.

For Dabo to have become what we know, he had to hire an OC like Morris and, even more important, a DC like Venables. If those guys had not gone to Clemson, Dabo would not have a National Championship.

I'm hoping we don't have a let down against Wake or App. The game at Wake will be a good test for the team as the first game of the season away from a large fan base in the stands. Would be awesome to welcome Klemsun at 4-0.

Hope we stay unranked and under the radar. That might get under the player's skin. Nothing like feeling under appreciated to get you pissed off.

Yeah, a loss to Wake or App would take some of the luster off beating SC and da U. I think Mack will have them focused on a solid, well coached Wake team.

Bateman is special. Unless Mack promises to step aside within 3 years, I'm certain that Bateman will get a P5 head job or NFL defensive coordinator position

There is nothing in Bateman's history that suggests he is interested in the NFL. This is his 1st P5 DC job. Only a desperate P5 program would hire someone with that little P5 experience as HC.

Bateman is going to be a P5 DC for at least 3 or 4 years before a decent P5 HC job is offered. We have to make certain he stays in Chapel Hill.

Bateman is the defensive parallel to Lincoln Riley. Bob Stoops stepped aside for Riley and I suspect that Coach Brown is grooming Bateman to be the head coach at UNC

Damn, we are 2-0, and all you want to do is run off our coaches....Lighten up Francis, and enjoy the ride!
