5 Takeaways From UNC's Loss at State

1.Mack was a very risky, and thus bad, hire.
2. Mack's original staff choices should have meant he was on a very short leash from Day 1.
3. Any losing season should have meant his firing.
4. Charm is dangerous because its disarms and seduces. That is Mack.
5. The UNC powers that be that want football kept down are still giggling over this hire and retention.

Woad,
I am intrigued by this one. No question there is a different vibe in CH than Raleigh. For example, you won’t see a crowd like that in CH ever in Kenan.
But are there powers in CH working against football?

Yeah... didn't you know that? The people at UNC are purposely making sure that the football program fails perpetually in order to make Woad's life miserable. They leave nothing to chance... it's all very calculated.

Is this like 2 people? One Chansky (in your opinion) and the other imaginary?

Both are giggling on one hand, but kicking themselves for allowing the bluezone to be completed, swapping the surface of the field, adding the massive practice facility changes, all the massive locker room changes.

Actually he was the least risky. We knew he'd re-kindle recruiting, amp the fans, get the program heading on the right trajectory and those was our areas of biggest need. He proved these things IMO in year 4 (9 wins, just 2 conf losses, ACC champ gm appearance). Of course the cracks in the armor were revealed by then, which were that he's got a cap or ceiling of 8/9, and he shouldn't ridden off on a high note at that time.

Last year would have been the perfect year, because Drake would have been a big enticement for most coaches to come. Of course, it's also an enticement for most coaches to stay.
