Since April of last year this has been a bad bad year for all Carolina athletics...except maybe field hockey.

Football....major disappointment as the hype of September, turned into the terrible end of the season..completely forgettable except for the great play of Drake.

WOMEN'S SOCCER... 1 minute away from the ncaa title and they are robbed by a clear foul and no call as the ucla team bum rushes our goalie and they end of losing the title

Basketball...in 50 years of watching Carolina sports...this team ranks just barely behind the 9 win team as the biggest disappointment and least enjoyable team to watch. GAME after game it was like watching some alien thingh..barely looked like Carolina basketball for most of the season

Here's to a brighter and better next 12 months

Not sure how a title game appearance for the soccer team would be considered a bad year. Women's basketball, field hockey, LAX, tennis, baseball and men's golf have all had a really good 12 months. Also, we just won our first national championship in women's diving. So maybe update the title to football and basketball have had a really bad 12 months.

No need for anyone to reply that all those sports are irrelevant and no one cares about them.

Sort of. Those sports' achievements are used as supporting evidence of Carolina's greatness. If they are to be the headline, then the "greatness" takes a major hit.

Not maybe Field Hockey. They were undefeated this year, being in only 2 close games. Arguably the best season any UNC program has ever had.

Let's add wrestling and women's swimming to my list. Two individual national championships in the past week. At least we are good in the sports no one cares about.
