2018-19 Season
  • The ACC leads all conferences with six teams ranked in the top 25 of the NCAA Net Rankings, including three in the top seven. The ACC leads all conferences with nine teams in the top 50.
  • The ACC has posted a 149-41 (.784) record this season against non-conference opposition.
  • Five teams are ranked in the most recent AP Top 25 poll, including No. 2 Virginia, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 5 Duke, No. 12 Florida State and No. 16 Virginia Tech. The ACC has had at least one team ranked in the AP poll for 1,012 consecutive weeks dating back to December 19, 1962 (when it was a top-10 only poll).

ACC Tournament
  • A year ago, No. 1 seed Virginia turned back No. 9 seed Louisville, No. 4 seed Clemson and No. 6 seed North Carolina on successive days to claim the program’s third ACC championship (also 1976 and 2014). The Cavaliers held their three tournament opponents to an average of 59.7 points per game and a combined .374 shooting percentage. Kyle Guy, who averaged 16.7 points in three tournament games, was voted the event’s MVP.
  • The storied tournament has been more competitive than ever during the present decade. Over the past eight years, the Tournament has produced six different champions (2011 – Duke; 2012 – Florida State; 2013 – Miami; 2014 – Virginia; 2015 – Notre Dame; 2016 – North Carolina; 2017 – Duke; 2018 – Virginia).

NCAA Tournament History
  • Teams currently in the ACC have combined to win 16 NCAA Championships. North Carolina leads the way with six national titles, including three in the last 14 years. Duke is second with five, followed by Louisville (2), NC State (2), and Syracuse (1).
  • Two of the last four, and seven of the last 18 NCAA Championships have been won by teams currently competing in the ACC. Current ACC teams have played in four of the last six NCAA Championship Games. The ACC has had at least one Final Four team in 30 of the last 42 years.
  • The ACC has combined to win a record 59 NCAA Tournament games the last four years, eclipsing the previous mark of 53 set by the ACC from 2014-17 and 1990-93. The 59 wins are 23 more than any other conference. Over this four-year span, ACC teams are 54-24 (.692) against non-conference opposition as league teams have met head-to-head five times in NCAA play the previous four seasons.
  • The ACC’s 19 wins in the 2016 NCAA Tournament were the most all-time by any conference as were its six Sweet 16 teams. Over the past four years, ACC teams have combined to make 16 Sweet 16 appearances, which is more than any other conference.
  • With 624 wins among its 15 current members, the ACC is the all-time winningest conference in the NCAA Tournament. The ACC also has the highest NCAA Tournament winning percentage (.618).
  • With its 12-9 mark in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, the ACC extended its non-losing streak in NCAA Tournament play to 31 years in a row. The Big Ten has the next longest streak at 12.
  • Since the NCAA started assigning seeds in 1979, the ACC has produced more No. 1 seeds (37) than any other conference, has the best winning percentage as a No. 1 seed (.824), and is the only conference to have a winning record (27-24) in games versus No. 1 seeds.
  • In the modern era (since 1985) 49 percent of the ACC teams which earned NCAA Tournament bids have reached the Sweet 16 (90 of 185).

ACC Coaches and Programs
  • The ACC features three active coaches that are in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame - Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina’s Roy Williams and Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim.
  • Four ACC coaches currently have more than 600 career wins – Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim, North Carolina’s Roy Williams and Miami’s Jim Larrañaga.
  • The ACC led all conferences with six first-round selections in the 2018 NBA Draft. The ACC also led all conferences with 10 overall selections. The ACC is the only conference to have had at least four first round picks in each of the past 10 NBA Drafts. Over the past 10 years, the ACC leads all conferences in both first-round selections (59) and overall selections (95).
  • The ACC has had at least one consensus first-team All-American in 24 of the past 28 years, and since 1981 the ACC has produced 46 consensus All-Americans, 18 more than any other conference.

Academic Success
  • In the latest release of the “Best Colleges” rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the ACC member schools had an average rank of 54.7, marking the 12th straight year that the ACC has led all FBS conferences.
  • The 2018 NCAA Graduation Success Report released last November showed eight ACC men’s basketball programs ranking above the Division I average, tying for the second-most among Power 5 conferences.
  • Clemson, Duke, Notre Dame and Pitt achieved perfect scores of 100.
  • The ACC led all conferences with 12 member institutions achieving total department GSR scores higher than the national average.
  • Basketball student-athletes from current ACC schools have earned first-team Academic All-America honors 54 times.
