It's the off season, so what the heck.
This morning I started listening to Rex Chapman's book that came out and he mentions UNC in an early chapter. When talking about his recruitment picking up his junior year of HS, coaches could come watch him workout. One of those coaches was Dean Smith.
It just so happened, that Smith came to watch on Halloween, and Chapman had a thing where he dressed up like a woman every year for the occasion. In the book he mentions going thru an entire workout while wearing a long wig and headband, with Dean Smith watching the entire time. I thought that was pretty funny and thought some of you might get a kick out of it.
Apparently, there's another part in the book I've heard about (haven't gotten there yet myself), where he said after his time at UK, someone from the university called asking if he wanted his jersey in the rafters. It would only cost him $50k to the university to make it happen....
