It's not the first time I've heard about it, but it is the first time it was correct. Why would I post it before they won?
Springer is on the cover and was named World Series MVP. That's even more weird than the prediction itself.
I actually kept that 2014 SI issue since my son is such a big Astros fan. (I usually toss them after I read them unless a Tar Heel is on the cover.) I'll present it to him when I see him next.
Darvish sucked but so did McCullers, LA just didnt take advantage of it the way that Houston did. McCullers hit 4 batters in less than 3 innings and put twice as many runners on base as Darvish did. I blame the LA bats more than anything. Turner/Seager/Puig were horrible in the WS .... Bellinger struck out a bunch but he also had 7 RBI's that helped keep the series going, so I cant be too mad at him.
Oh well, I'll keep waiting .... next year will be the 30th anniversary of the last Dodgers championship and the 60th anniversary of their move to LA. Maybe there will be some magic?!?
