• Carolina has won four in a row and 10 of its last 12 games.
• The Tar Heels are 2-4 on the road this season (not including the neutral-site win over Portland at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore.). Carolina has won two straight on the road (Louisville and Syracuse).
• Carolina held the Orange to 68 points, the sixth straight game the Tar Heel defense has held the opponents under 70 points.
• Carolina had 14 assists on 16 first-half field goals and finished with 20 assists on 26 baskets for a season-best percentage of .769 (previous was 75.0% on 24 assists/32 FG vs. The Citadel).
• It was the third time this season UNC had 20 or more assists (also 24 vs. The Citadel and 20 vs. Ohio State). The Tar Heels had a combined 13 assists in the previous two games vs. Boston College and NC State.

• Pete Nance scored a game-high 21 points. It was his second 20-point game as a Tar Heel (10th career) and the fourth time he led UNC in scoring (first time since 12/4 at Virginia Tech).
• Nance also matched his season best with three assists and had a career-high four steals (which doubled his previous career best for steals, which he had done six times).
• Caleb Love scored 15 points and passed Ademola Okulaja, Raymond Felton, Ed Cota and Bobby Jones to move into 53rd in UNC history with 1,266 points (one behind Vince Carter).

• RJ Davis and Love both had five assists. UNC is now 7-0 this year and 19-2 overall when Davis has five or more assists and 5-1 this year and 26-3 overall when Love has five or more.
• Love made his first three three-point field goal attempts and finished the game 3 for 5 from three. He was 3 for 22 from three-point range over the previous three games. It was the seventh time in 21 games this season Love made at least three 3FGs.
• Armando Bacot scored 18 points, grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and had four assists. Bacot’s career totals include 1,657 points (still 22nd in UNC history) and a UNC-record 1,229 rebounds, seventh most in ACC history (Duke’s Mike Gminski is sixth with 1,242).
• Carolina scored 21 points off Syracuse turnovers, seven more than the Orange. The Tar Heels improved to 8-1 when they have more points off turnovers (are 5-5 when they have fewer).

• The Tar Heels led for 36:42 and trailed for only 1:40, including for 1:04 at 68-66 before Pete Nance made one FT and then scored the game-winner with 19 seconds to play after a missed FT and steal.
• Freshman Tyler Nickel led all players on both teams in plus/minus at +12 in just under a dozen minutes.
• Carolina won despite converting 60.9% from the free throw line (14 of 23).
• The Tar Heels scored a season-low two second-chance points (an offensive rebound and basket in the second half by RJ Davis). The game-winning basket by Nance, which came after a missed free throw, was officially recorded as following a Syracuse defensive rebound and turnover.

Series vs. Syracuse
• Carolina is 16-6 all-time vs. the Orange.
• The Tar Heels have won 12 of 15 since Syracuse joined the ACC.
• Carolina is 12-3 all-time in the JMA Dome (formerly the Carrier Dome), including 5-2 against Syracuse.
