No score through 4 innings. Hoos loaded the bases B4 but Bukauskas with a couple strikeouts to get himself out of a jam.

Datres leads off the 5th with a solo HR. Heels lead 1-0.

Things just got weird.

Sutherland grounds to 3rd. The throw to home hits Pate in the back and then rolls into the dugout. It's scored an error, Pate and Ramirez are both allowed to advance which results in 2 runs.

Heels up 3-0. Runner on 2nd. 1 out in the 6th.

Hit-and-run burns the Heels a bit as Gahagan flies out at the warning track. The runners have to get back to base and neither is able to advance.

Lynn takes a 4-pitch walk to load the bases with 2 outs. Cody Roberts batting for UNC.

Shambora walks in the run. Bases loaded, 2 outs, UNC now leads 4-0 T6.

And now Shambora is done. LHP Bennett Sousa to the mound.

Wow, and he commits a balk which scores the 4th Tar Heel run this inning, 5th of the game. Brian Miller grounds out to end the frame but UNC expands its lead thanks to a couple UVA errors.

Bukauskas surrenders his second walk of the day, coming against the last three batters. Coach Forbes to the mound but J.B. will remain on the mound.

Deep shot to right center field scores the run and puts a runner on 2nd with no outs. 5-1 Heels.

Hi, RH! Thanks for the thread. I took a short nap and it was much longer than "short". Getting old

Heels get a 3-run homer from Toy Cannon. Walks and passed balls allow them to load the bases again but they can't do anything with it.

UNC up 8-1 at the stretch.

1-2-3 inning for Bukauskas. We go to the 8th inning.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. --- Home runs by Kyle Datres and Eli Sutherland and 11 strikeouts from J.B. Bukauskas powered No. 13 North Carolina to an 8-1 win over No. 25 Virginia Saturday afternoon at Davenport Field. Bukauskas followed last week's 13-strikeout performance with another gem, allowing just one run on four hits in seven innings to improve to 6-1 on the year.

Bukauskas and Virginia's Adam Haseley (6-1) were locked in a pitcher's duel through four scoreless innings before Datres' second home run of the year put the Tar Heels in front in the fifth. Carolina (25-10, 9-8 ACC) added four more in the sixth thanks to a pair of errors, a bases-loaded walk and a balk.

Sutherland capped the scoring with a line drive out to left, a three-run shot that was his fourth homer of the year. He, Datres and Adam Pate all had two hits and two runs scored, as the Tar Heels finished with seven hits and drew 10 walks.
