USC RHP Matt Keating Transfers To UNC

Matt Keating, a righty from Omaha, Neb., posted a 3.60 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 30 innings over 24 games for USC last season.

His 32.6% strikeout rate would have been the highest of any @DiamondHeels pitcher who threw more than an inning.

He went 2-3 with a 3.60 ERA and a team-leading seven saves for the Trojans. #UNC

Is he a grad transfer?

"Keating is in an interesting position now, as he was committed to transferring to the University of North Carolina for next year. Now he’ll have the option to go pro instead, and the Yankees should be a tempting choice. His slot is listed at $157,900, but the Yankees should have room thanks to their previous picks to go over that mark if they need to convince him to leave school"

He'd probably be looking at around $100k after taxes and agent/lawyers fees. I don't think that makes much sense. Especially given the lifestyle of a minor league player. Unless you are desperate for money or you're a big Yankees fan, it makes more sense to come back for one year.
