A&M RC and receivers coach who just became the new KU HC.

Either this is a brilliant move (Beaty was twice a KU assistant, so perhaps they know something in Lawrence), or it marks the utter futility of KU, marks its failure to draw a winning MAC or MWC or CUSA HC or a top OC or DC from a P5 league.

Word is that he's a fantastic recruiter...for an SEC team playing in the heart of Texas. Let's see how he does with a Big 12 cellar dweller in the middle of a corn field.

Exactly.

A program like KU needs a coach who has proven he knows how to rebuild a losing program and/or proven to know how to win with a program in a state that produces few top recruits.

K-State may be in and around bigger "cornfields" than may be around Kansas, but Bill Snyder seems to be able to build competitive teams every year in the B-12?....Wonder if Kansas being considered a "basketball school" has anything to do with that?...

Snyder's ability to recognize undervalued talent has been amazing thru the years, and Kansas as you guys stated above, is in the middle of nowhere with "cornfields" everywhere...lol, but they too have had their day in the sun when Mangino was there!

Probably will be a lot easier for Beaty to make a name for himself there, since nobody but Jayhawk fans care about Kansas, and nobody as you stated, knows who David Beaty is, right now....
