I disagree with the main points brought up here. Yes, there are a few elite teams dominating recruiting right now, but that won't always be the same teams every year. It's cyclical. In 2001, Miami was the class of college football. Look at them now.

These elite teams also force other programs to elevate themselves with smarter coaching hires which in most cases will improve their recruiting classes and thus spreading the talent wealth out farther.

College football simply doesn't have a mechanism to prevent hegemony by a handful of teams. Those teams may change over time, but it happens at a glacier's pace.

The best players want to win and compete for championships. It's that simple. If a team like FSU does well with Norvell, they will be right back in the list of schools getting elite recruits.
