I get all the hype about us needing a center in the portal.. but I don’t understand why everyone is so pressed. Say we get thiero and omoruyi that means our starting 4 and 5 neither can stretch the floor and forbid cadeau doesn’t get much better during the off-season with his 3 pt shot now our 1,4, and 5 can’t shoot if we get thiero why not let JW have a chance to start and grow throughout the season it won’t be our first time doing it and he can stretch the floor so thiero can drive there was times he played better than bacot last year. All I’m saying is the sky isn’t falling if we don’t get one of the top centers if we can get a big bodied backup I think that would suffice.

So I'm researching Cade, wondering why he had no high school recruiting profile and no high school ranking. I see he went to Carmel Christian School and then it dawns on me.

That's the school they started inside Carmel Baptist Church. 1200 yards down the street from Providence High School where Antawn Jamison played. It's been steadily growing over the past decade plus, but I always thought it was just an elementary school. I had no idea they had high school students, let alone a high school basketball team. No wonder he never got scouted and ended up at Belmont.

If we are lucky enough to land his commitment, don't let doubts or trolls sucker you into believing he's destined to be a letdown bc he's coming from a midmajor. This dude was basically invisible because of the high school he attended. Yet this offseason he's been recruited by UNC, dook, and Kentucky. And frankly it would be mighty cool to have 2 Tar Heels come from high schools on this short stretch of highway 51 in Southeast Charlotte/Matthews.

Boogie, back in the day our boards had classic back and forth hate discussions. I was right in the middle of it and it was fun.

Tyrone Weeks deserves immense thanks from all Carolina fans. Coach Smith continued to call Rasheed's mom every year to sing Happy Birthday, long after Rasheed's time at Carolina. Sheed and Coach Smith are truly irreplaceable.
