Colorado State PG Kyan Evans is Transferring to UNC

I know people will disagree with me, but if Evans is the PG1, I wouldn't play as much of the traditional UNC system. I would actually play slower (not slow) and initiate offense through the bigs at the high post/elbow consistently and utilize him off the ball a lot. And I mean utilize the bigs to trigger and initiate offense. Not just to finish offensive possessions. Certainly try to score in primary and secondary off misses or when it's available. But on paper, this doesn't look like a "play the fastest pace in the country" to me. I didn't think that should've been the game plan last year either.

I'm personally not someone who thinks your PG needs to be the absolute engine and dominant handling figure to be a good team. I actually think it's more important that you have quality bigs that you can trigger and play through. It appears they have it, and at the least, they've upgraded the bigs significantly from last season.

For me, Evans isn't really a PG so that's dangerous. But looks to be an elite shooter and is a plus shooter off the bounce, which is huge. I like my guards to be able to play without the ball in their hands. Cadeau and RJ didn't have that ability consistently. Not sure if Seth is that kind of player, but he can at least score off offensive rebounds. I think Evans can clearly play without the ball. And there might be enough skill with Wilson and Veesaar where you have to force opposing 4s and 5s to play against skill.

Here's the scary part. It will come down to coaching. How will Hubert utilize all this. Will he be creative enough and layered in his offensive scheme to get the most out of his skill? We'll see. If this becomes Evans camping in the corner for spacing and Trimble isolating 1-on-1 if he gets a big to switch on him in a basic ball screen, then this isn't going to work.

But there is a path for good offense. All subject to change since we're 1/2 a year away from the games mattering. But at least for today, I can let my imagination run a bit.

And if he can really shoot it like he did this season, there's no reason you can't steal a bucket a game on this kind of early offense:

And please have this for Seth next season with Evans as the decoy:

Same table but with Per-40 numbers, which are probably a better basis for comparison.

Good grief man. I’ve been more critical of democrats than you ever have been of Trump or the Republican Party.
that should tell you something. Get a clue. Take a hint. You're backing the wrong horse.

I am not in favor of everything Trump believes and does. But I strongly support many of his efforts, both current and previous...and you can deny it all you want to, but the indisputable fact is that the left...in which you are firmly ensconced...is mindlessly compelled to counteract whatever Trump does, good of the country be damned. Criticize them? Try not supporting them and then we'll talk.

Derrick Phelps….

That 94 team while talented had many underlying issues.

Divide the entire season between the upper classman and freshmen. Starting five the majority of the year was not the best starting five.

No one assumed leadership role after George Lynch graduated.

I'm not convinced they win it all that year with Phelps.
Agree with the above but people forget Donald Williams' shoulder midseason injury. That's what really torpedoed us against BC.

Are We Winning the Portal?

I think most of us like how the portal is going, so far, but are we winning yet? Where by winning, I mean our incoming players are a net improvement over those who left?

I included Drake and Catchings even though their fates are still unclear.

Here are some numbers, but they don't tell the whole story, of course. The On3 and 247 numbers are their ranks at the moment.

Well... if you're too scared and you can't do it, then it's probably best to keep it there and not pretend you know how someone else who "does it" should be "killing it" in the current market situation.
Lol. I'd have a hard time with the risk of day trading during "normal" markets. It's not within my risk tolerance. Doesn't mean I don't think traders who are perfectly suited to such shouldn't be able to take advantage of all this. Just saying, these people are supposed to be experts at knowing what to grab and when to buy, sell and short. A market making big swings would seem to make that easier.

I mean, you are kidding yourself if you think there aren't a ton of people out there who've made a killing in the last week. Hell, one of your buddies, schiffty, thinks the WH has been inside trading and demanding an investigation - that's just funny cause I highly doubt he'd want anyone going through his finances over the years. First, he's against tariffs, then he's against pausing them. The only consistency there is that he's against anything orange related. Sound familiar?

The primary Paige attribute i'd like all players to have is his stare-down competitive focus.

MJ said regarding why he didn't go into coaching: “I have no patience for coaching. My biggest problem from a competitive standpoint is the focus of today’s athlete and the focus where I saw the game, how I pursued the game — it changes and it’s totally different."

“For me to ask an individual to focus on the game the way I played the game, in some ways would be unfair for that kid that would have to endure that.”

Paige would've been able to be coached by MJ IMO. But I guess it is a tall task to find players like that.

Honestly, he should be killing it. Someone who is into that and pays attention should have been able to take advantage of these big swings. I can't cause I'm too skerred to try and would likely push the wrong button or something, but it's what he does.

The funny thing is, the political “left” in this country is severely misaligned with the Democratic Party. Every “liberal” I know is deeply critical of them. If their base actually supported them and showed up to vote then every presidential election would be a landslide. I don’t think republicans have that problem. The right will vote for whoever the republicans put on the ticket just out of principle. They’ve always been much better at circling the wagons.
I think you are kidding yourself about what's happened. The D party is now controlled by and dominated by a small percentage of political "left" even though the bulk of people in the party are still middle of the roaders who just want some common sense applied and for their families to do well. They are just too afraid to say anything for fear of getting shouted down and called some ist or ism. They are leaving or voting R in droves because they feel that the orangeman supports them because he's been the same type of target and has a message that isn't considered crazy left. He can be a total ass but still come across as relatable and sincere in wanting those voters to succeed. That doesn't mean that he doesn't have his issues, but the schickt of all things being bad just because it comes from Mr. Evil is being seen for what it is - dipshits looking at everything and everyone through a political prism.
