ANNOUNCING...Heel Chat!! A new feature on THI!!

We are excited to announce a new feature that will be available for our subscribers here at Tar Heel Illustrated.

HEEL CHAT is a new chat feature that we will use to replace our game day threads that are very popular when the Tar Heels play. Also, we can have special chats on all kinds of topics involving the Tar Heels. You can ask our staff questions whether it's general questions about the Tar Heels in football, basketball, or recruiting.

To join the CHAT, please click the CHAT button that in listed right below the Tar Heel Illustrated banner. On the phone, you must pull the site menu up and scroll down to CHAT.

We feel really excited about the new feature and it will debut on Saturday when the Tar Heels host Appalachian State in Kenan Stadium.

We suggest that you join the chat to experience instant reactions and thoughts as the Tar Heels face the Mountaineers. There will be a thread in which all chat posts will be posted and you can still post in that, but the chat will be so much easier and you will not have to keep hitting refresh. LOL!!!

Mack on the Wildcat ("Ram Package")

UNC tried two wildcat plays tonight and neither worked. And it's not sure the Heels will run it again. Mack Brown was not pleased with the calls.

“No, the Wildcat (formation) is not what I want on fourth down and inches with a 6-foot 5-inch, 235-pound quarterback," he said. "So, it's going be put on the shelf for short yardage, for sure. I was on it pretty quickly and Chip (Lindsey) agreed. I mean, if we'd made it, we made it at South Carolina. If we'd made it tonight, nobody would have said anything and probably it would have been a mistake later on. So I'm glad that happened. We also didn't block the backside on the third and one and we've got to do that. So those are things that we can do better as coaches.”
