I don't keep up with the Bball side like I do Football..Anybody got a Breakdown on the 3 we have coming in...

Tony Bradley finished 3rd in the 3 point shoot out for the McDonald's game last night.
Nice looking shot for a 6'10 big man. Glad we finally have that stretch 4 that can hit some 3s

I'm pretty intrigued by Seventh Woods. He seems to have that star quality, despite not putting things quite together yet. Hopefully he has the attitude to get in and learn.

Seen a few suggestions the main slight is him taking plays off and not showing the full-game intensity. On that note... anyone come across anything interesting scouting-wise on him?

I read that he has no fear at all of taking it in the lane.

I think he is a superb athlete and has a little bit of Joel berry grit in him. His ball handle is a work in progress, does at times try the flashy pass rather than the safer one but that can be worked on. I disagree about him taking plays off, he does get a bit less than challenged in the private school league he plays in. What sticks out to me, what I think will get him on the court quicker is his ability and desire to be a defender. Like Justin jackson had to, 7th is going to have to acclimate himself to a brand new level of competition, that could take a minute.

Personally, I see him as a 2 guard, a combo at best, I just love him at the 2 but don't really love him as a PG, similar to nate britt in that respect IMO. He is a streaky shooter and IMO does need to get that honed in to be more a consistent jump shooter. I think it is a battle between him and Kenny Williams and Nate for the starting 2 guard spot, nate has the inside track due to experience but IMO Kenny may be the better choice next season. I may be higher on Kenny Williams than most, Brandan Robinson will get PT as well either at the 2 or 3.

Anyone know why Seventh dropped so far in the rankings? I remember his freshman year he was the #1 player in his class and people were comparing him to Derrick Rose

He tried to market himself as a PG in AAU. Didn't go that well and hurt his ranking. As Dave said, he is a 2... combo at best.

Seventh has sick athletic ability and when that stroke gets more consistent he can do just fine at his size at the 2.

Dave, you said it exactly. I used to coach against Hammond and although they play in some bigger tourneys their normal competition talent level is pretty spotty. The good news is that when they did play up, 7th showed out this past season. Once he settles in without trying to be something he's not I have high hopes.

Kid is fearless in the lane and has the hops to be a successful 2 even at his size.

I also agree we will see Kenny Williams blossom and start at the 2 next season. I see Robinson as a more natural 3.

some of you will be frustrated with seventh...having watched him up close for four years, at times i was...i've gotten to know him a bit, not like raymond, and i think he can be okay in this system...size might be an issue, but it also might keep him in school.

he's not ld2.

With respect to Dave and Gary, I get nervous talking about starters while this season is still cooking.
That said, I reckon any conjecture about who starts at the 2 would need to factor in Justin's intentions and then Theo's position.

Probably a better discussion point when the celebrations die down and things get slow in June-July....

Pinson will start at the two... Now back to topic
My thinking exactly.

As for the '16 class, I'd like to see another big, and I'm not just thinking grad transfer. Even a development, project 4yr player will help the Heels:

'16 frontline: Kennedy, Isaiah, Bradley, Maye
**assuming Luke Maye doesn't declare for the draft :p
'17 frontline: Bradley, Maye, no other signed players!!

So even if Roy is swinging for the fences with '17 big men, signing a 4yr player won't deter any of the top guns, there'll be plenty of playing time available. Also having a 4yr player from the '16 class is advantageous as cover for early departures in '18 or '19.

Only problem is, are there any '16 bigs left worth looking at?
