They specialize in installing their software (so to speak) on any player that comes into their system. He has the best hardware of any qb in the draft. Could be a deadly combo for the future
No idea what the Panthers will do, but the real question should be: is how badly will the Browns F up their draft again? I've heard that the new GM is not even telling the coach who he intends to select at no. 1. LOL
It's so Browns to have not learned their lesson with Johnny Manziel and to draft what is essentially his clone.
not sure i agree...he’s the most proven qb in the draft, he rose to the level of his competition, he’s a leader, and he’s a winner.
not buying size being the issue...pockets are moving again and lanes get moved...and if they get baker and then either nelson or chubb, they are better.

Eli stinks, but surrounding him with skill position players like Barkley, Odell, Engram, Shepard (all under 26) makes his life a lot easier. Plus the defense will get healthy.

I agree with this. I actually like Mayfield, and think he might be the best QB in the draft. But he definitely has off the field stuff which I don't think Cleveland is capable of reigning in.
I don’t see how Cleveland can pass on Barkley at #1 but at least I don’t have to waste electricity on them in the fall
I'm sure they were hoping that he would slide to #4. Maybe they should take 2 qb's and let them fight it out?
It's the Browns, so there's a good chance that Mayfield will be Manziel 2.0.

Panthers have quite a few needs: guard, safety, tight end, cornerback, wide receiver, linebacker, even running back.
Hurney has a pretty good track record in the first round, so let's see what he does.

He’s compared a lot to a certain agent 89. He’s got breakaway speed, tons of agility, and a chip on his shoulder.
I wasn’t sure about the pick at first, but then Steve himself had this to say about him: “the panthers have never been able to replace me, until today.”
Baker Mayfield is not a leader. He may be a loud, rah-rah type. But leaders don’t act like he does. Not good ones at least.

Seeing mostly good grades for Panthers selection. Hurney had been pretty good in years past in round 1, but not so much in subsequent rounds. Hopefully he's gotten better in that regard.
The packers trade down from 14 and gain first rd pic for next year then trade back up to 18 and get the corner they wanted all along. So basically they traded a 3rd rd pic this yr for a first rd next year. Not bad.

Like @gunslingerdick mentioned, I would’ve taken Barkley at 1, and then pick up a QB at 4. I’m sure Mayfield would’ve still been available.
mayfield is the best qb in the draft...you don’t know what anyone else is doing until indy...so, yes, mayfield was the right pick...they also got the best press corner in the draft, so again, another need and other than nelson, bpa.
