2019 Battle for Atlantis thread...

Michigan or Iowa. If we play Oregon it would be in the title game. I think Oregon is one of the favorites for the national title at this point.

At this point all teams are still in the embryonic stage. Come tourney time they will all be very different, but I think Oregon is better equipped for early readiness then most.
Oregon is good. However, unlike last time we played them, I doubt they have the size to make a Natty run,

According to Pomeroy, Alabama is the 2nd fastest team in the nation. We're #31.

Normally running into a team that plays up tempo would make me smile. But I'm not sure this team is playing as a team well enough (yet) to take advantage.

Alabama is also reasonably tall, with three 6'9 guys who aren't scrawny.

We should win, but they could give us trouble.

So Ala is the 2d fastest team...and who have they played? Penn & FIU as loses, then Rhode Island and Furman are wins. I'm gong to check some stuff on Bama....back later.
Saw that Juwan Gary was at Ala, former team mate in Columbia, S C with a guy we are familiar with.

Yeah, this early you can't put too much faith in those numbers. But they're the numbers we have. At the very least they show a team that can go fast.

I'd love to see our new guys get in the kind of running game that Roy likes. It will be a wake-up call for some. But a necessary wake-up call for the the season ahead.

Needless to say, it would be nice to have BRob back.

After Alabama we play either #24 Michigan or #42 Iowa St. Pomeroy rankings. Each ranked higher than anyone we have faced yet.

Michigan tempo = 163
ISU tempo = 117

FWIW

Bama has had huge problems turning the ball over. Hopefully we capitalize on that weakness and turn some defense into easy offense.
