2025 recruiting....

Rather see him at BYU than Bama or Kansas.
Any way you slice it, UNC has now missed on 17 of the 18 recruits we've offered in the top 40 of the class of 2025. Only 1 recruit left and he's been offered $2 million by Kentucky.

Our NIL simply can not compete right now.

I was watching on First take and for a split second, I saw the blue shirt and thought OMG we did it.... I was wrong

They better be prepared to focus on the transfer portal. Next year is going to be ugly.

We missed on every good frontcourt player in the portal this summer. We're missing on every top 40 recruit in the class of 2025. Our football recruiting class is embarrassing.

Nothing is going to get better until the boosters start supporting NIL. Maybe hiring Bill Belichick will get the donors to open their checkbooks.

You heard wrong. Maybe preface it as your opinion and not a certainty.
So you cannot read? Do you not see at the end of EVERY thing I have a disclaimer, it is in English, I assume you are able to read the English language?

We don’t have the Money
Duke has an express lane to the NBA
But damn had we got one of those first 3 portal centers we would be real competitive….

It makes me feel better he choose BYU… can’t be mad at him choosing the biggest bag. Also no player is worth paying that much.

Of course there is all the ridiculousness his family talked about winning a national championship, family, blah blah blah. I don't blame him for taking the biggest bag, but you don't need to pretend all the other stuff is important when it clearly is not.

I am getting a bit annoyed with the replies that we have the money, that Hubert is just shy to spend it. I think everyone here has enough common sense to realize that we do have a money problem that several other programs do not have to our degree. Maybe the revenue sharing will and salary cap, both on the way, will mitigate some of that.

UNC spent nearly the entire day Sunday "negotiating" with Belichek, what do you think the sticking point was, you know it was about the money that will be needed to given to UNC football for it to be successful. Football pays the bills... Has anyone noticed, when you go to the ESPN web site you have to go to the tab labeled "more sports" before you can see college basketball, college football is a main tab on their front page. That is a small thing but it shows a difference in the level of respect ESPN has for college basketball.

Say we do get Belichek, means his demands are met and knowing that the UNC collective has now merged the money for BOTH football and basketball, where does the money come from to pay the basketball talents we need to get back to where UNC belongs in the sport?

D, I think the hope would be that a Belichick hire would result in more excitement toward the football program which would equate to more NIL opportunities.

Whether that would be true or not, I have no idea. I do not think it can be denied that. Bill Belichick being our head coach would draw much more attention to our football program.

Let me make sure I have this correct. He signs a letter of intent to BYU on or before November 20 yet his dad attends the UNC / Bama game 2 weeks later.
Hmmmmm

His dad attended 2 Bama games in a row.

So basically he signed a LOI, and then his dad visited with other programs to leverage BYU into writing a bigger check. The current rumor is $7 million. They played the BYU donors like a fiddle.

Just another reason to give up on college sports. Just as dirty as it has been in the past. More so now since there are no rules to break.

Duke got 3 of the guys we offered.
Kentucky got 3 of the guys we offered.
Kansas got 2 of the guys we offered.
UConn got 2 of the guys we offered.

Duke and Kentucky should run out of money pretty soon, right?

Not as long as their boosters keep writing checks. dook, UK, and Kansas were buying players long before NIL was allowed. They haven't run out of money yet.

UK has offered Caleb Wilson $2 million. Bacot said he made around $2 million for his college career, and most of that came from legitimate endorsements and not simply from UNC writing him a check.
