A little Fall intel...

Every team is a brand new experience and as such, they will need some time to gel. I am not one of those folks that lament who is no longer with us, be it graduation or other wise. I do believe this team has the chops to be better than we were last season, if for no other reason than our big men have matured.

Can 7th or Coby replace Joel's scoring, really doubtful but the good news is they don't have to, just limit the TOs and play within the offense and our PG position will be fine. Defensively, I do think we may have a better back court, defense from our back court, IMO could well become a team strength and more consistent game to game than last season. We have better size in our back court now, no offense to Joel but he was not the biggest dog out there size wise. WE as well will not need to play our PG well over 30mins a game

This team is a legit final four contender, and I'm sticking by that sentement

If things come together as I think they will, as the indications I get seem to be, I agree, we are a final 4 level team but it will take them a while early on to find their groove. Note, because a team may be final 4 level does not mean they are a lock to be in the final 4. We needed luck in the draw last season that we would not run in to a team that could dominate our front court and we have a cold shooting night from outside and unfortunately we ran in to just that early on. I think now we can get more solid play from our more experienced front court, we have great length, we will not be so dependent on hot outside shooting.

The only way would be for us to be hit by unforeseen injury issues and hopefully that is not the case.

I am very optimistic about this year's team. We are deep with interchangeable parts. We have athleticism, length, and skill at every position. Once the team discovers a go-to scorer and reveals its identity, we will soar. I anticipate learning a great deal during the pre-season tourneys. We will most likely lose some games early while our freshmen get up to speed, but by ACC time this will be a contending team. I anticipate a really fun season with a few ups and downs; some chicken littles that will fall off the band wagon when we lose; and a deep NCAA tourney run that gets at least to the Final Four! I think 7th will finally show he is a capable PG and our bigs will give us what we need to win a great deal!
