Was in attendance for the Atlanta stop of the Tar Heel Tour tonight. First of all.....holy moly, we got a good one in Charlton Warren (he was there and spoke tonight). CW is a no-nonsense guy who clearly loves the game and loves coaching. He said multiple times that his DB's will tackle well and press effectively, or they won't see the field. He said for the DB's, and for the whole defense, Spring Ball was all about mastering fundamentals and simplifying things. Interestingly, when asked to compare talent at UNC with talent at Nebraska, he said that UNC's talent is night and day better than what he had at Nebraska. He said there are eight DB's he feels he can plug in on any play and not lose sleep over it, compared to only having 1-2 guys at CB and 1-2 guys at safety he felt comfortable putting on the field at Nebraska. He also said LB talent at UNC is better than at Nebraska. He did admit that DL talent at Nebraska was better than what we have currently at Carolina.

Finally, he broke down what his depth chart would be if the season started tomorrow. Starting CB's would be Malik Simmons and M.J. Stewart, and starting safeties would be J.K. Britt and Sam Smiley. He also said that the first guy off the bench to play in the nickel would be Desmond Lawrence and I believe he said the next man up at nickel would be Brian Walker. He stressed that his depth chart changes every practice, but I found this particular starting lineup interesting.
