Had to check the top again to make sure I was on the right thread. Not a ND fan, but I'm happy for two things-dook losing and a chance to avenge our loss to the Irish. I have no thoughts on THN's marriage possibilities, but I'll just say I'm not optimistic.

carolina could be sent west, which is fine as long as the first two games are in nc.

i happen to think that will be the acct final and maybe the winner gets the south and loser gets the west...it's how it should be, but if something weird happens, and carolina loses tomorrow, i could see being the #2 seed in nova's bracket.

As much as it hurts me to admit this, I think UVa is winning this tournament. I honestly don't have much hope that we will beat Notre Dame. If we were to beat Notre Dame, I really don't think we'll beat UVa. I don't expect UVa to get to the Final Four, but I would bet on them winning the ACCT. UVa is a well-oiled machine. I'm not trying to take away from my support of the Heels. I'm just calling it like I see it. I hope I'm wrong.

It just doesn't feel right that there is no ACCT tourney game on Friday at noon. In years past, today would be the opening game, or at least the beginning of REAL games following the Thursday night Les Robinson Invitational.

Agreed. Maybe only allow top 10 teams to play. Have two play in games Thursday night and 4 games Friday. Semis on Saturday and finals on Sunday. The current format is ridiculous.

But it will never happen. Too much money to be lost, and the bottom teams want to believe they have some hope to resurrect thier season. But honestly, did BC really care about going and getting pummeled again? How many of their fans even made the trip to DC to watch that garbage?

-Take a half day off Thursday and drive to the beach or Pinehurst. Stop to watch as needed if Heels are playing or listen to Jones and Eric on the drive down if Carolina not playing. (This relieves Dan Bonner / Doris Burke fatigue)
-Play 18-36 Friday, eat early dinner and be ready to watch evening games.
-Repeat for Saturday
-Sunday, sleep as late as possible, eat a big greasy breakfast (bloody mary optional), drive home, take nap and get up refreshed for the selection show.

Whats not to like?

I lived an hour from Charlottesville durimg the Sampson era amd stayed there through the Scott Stadium football drought.

Heels have been to 4 of the last 5 (now 5 of the last 6) tourney finals but haven't won this thing since 2008. Time to change this tomorrow. Tired of losing this damn thing.

Most of my immediate family is in Virginia and always has been. I don't hate UVa at all. I actually see them as a respectable school and admirable opponent. I've never been demoralized or really PO'ed when we've lost to UVA, especially since Bennett took over. It's a respectable, efficient team and coach. Nothing to really hate as far as attitude or behavior. dook has plenty of slime in their trail. I don't LIKE losing at all, but losing to UVa is not as bad as losing to dook or state... at all. Even in the Sampson era, when my older cousins prayed at Holland's feet, it never bothered me. They never won anything substantial.

Now, if 5 years, if they keep winning like this, and we lose to them a lot... I might have a different perspective. They just aren't the rival that they really should be and could be. It would be nice to create a fervent rivalry between us and them. state is not even a minor challenge anymore.

I hope Roy & Co. can find some Achilles HEEL for them. UNC played like giants and lions and the sword-like fist of righteous thunder. If they can bottle that spirit and drink it before every game... hang another banner is guaranteed.

Almost EVERY game I have watched UVa play has gone exactly like the game tonight. Sometimes it goes like last night. UVa dictates the pace and is disciplined and efficient.

Tomorrow's game is equivalent to a National Championship in terms of the 2 teams that will be playing.

I know we are NOT the old Arkansas teams of 40 minutes of hell and we probably won"t or cannot press the entire game, BUT I would like to see some press. You MUST get VA OUT of their comfort zone, speed the game up in any way... AND ATTACK the rim, take it RIGHT at Gill and anybody in the middle Tobey etc Just drive at them.
It is a REAL challenge because they are good at what they do and Brogdon IS THE one man team that without him they are just ordinary. CONTAIN him not stop him try and contain him. I LOVE our chances in this game
