After only 3 possessions...

Yeah Ingram didn't show a motor, sort of moping around out there. Not good to see from anyone. Is he generally just one of those types of players for those of you who have watched him in HS often?

not impressed with dook.

kentucky is pretty good with marcus lee on the court. the key with them is to stop dribble penetration and you have to rebound.

Typical duke team in a return to form for them. Zero defense, specifically on the drive and at the rim, and totally reliant on 3s. So easy to see K coaches those head wips. Sickening. Duke will be out by the second round again IMO.

This was # 5,254 of the dook "road" games played at either MSG ,United center, or Meadowlands

I see he's still got his attitude and that pu$$y whiplash head move on his drives is disgusting. And Allen trying to guard PGs is an adventure. He attempted to guard Joel Berry when their teams played in HS and that didn't go well for him at all.

Scheyer 2.0?

Ulis was solid, Murry was the best player on the court... those to me were pretty much the highlites of this game filled with low-lites.

Allen comes in averaging 28 in their first 2 games, drives time after time right in to the teeth of Ky's defense and time after time he gets his weak stuff served back to him. Ingram as many should realize now does not need to be thinking one & done, way over hyped, had to laugh at the added 30lbs since being at duke, where again did he add that? Kid has serious talent but he is not close to being a real factor right now. PLum did what a 7ft big kid is suppose to do against a weakish long but thin front line, he played big man ball, if Plum and Jefferson are going to lead duke then they are not getting to far.

So skal is going to be the #1 pick in the next draft, followed closely by Ingram if you listen to the hype machines, I pity the GM that makes that mistake, neither show me they are even ready to start for their college teams, much less be lotto picks in the next draft. Murry on the other hand is IMO the second best freshman I have seen in this class and should be a lotto lock.

I sure didn't see the second best team play the 5th best team in the country last night no matter what the rankings have to say. I saw 2 teams that the winner should be around 15 and the loser lucky to be top 20. I am sure both teams will improve as this season progresses but that display last night was pitiful.

Say word

That was some ugly basketball both teams are overrated! Duke couldn't even hit free throws and Allen all he did was drive right and try to draw contact and threw up garbage. They can have Ingrahm has a long way too go but will be gone after this year! Murray and ulilis are the real deal but there frontcout is not that good, made Plumblee look like Tyler Hansbrough!

Rip Van Ingram may need to stay more than one year, but it is foregone conclusion that he is one-n-done. That is the reason went to Duke. The kid is 6-10 and can dribble like a guard. I hate Duke more than anyone and I hope the kid has a terrible statistical year, but he is one-in-done. Thornton also showed me enough to realize that if Duke plans on making the Dance this kid needs to be starting at the point very soon. Grayson Allen is not a point guard and Kentucky forced him into several turnovers. Ulis and Murray will head to the NBA after this season. I believe Ulis played the entire game last night. That kid is an awesome.

Murray is a lottery pick and will start day one for the team that drafts him.

As for Duke's team next year, I smile when I know that the best they will have at center is Jeter. He will get killed on the boards! They will miss Plumlee!

In fairness to BI, he stood out at the 3pt line to create more space inside, he didn't get after lose balls so as to allow Plumless that oportunity, agree with most all of the above posts. I think Dook is a tiny bit overrated. UK is good but not great.

Grayson Allen looks great when he is the 6th man. When he is weighted with having to be the #1 or #2 option he just isn't good enough to shoulder that responsibility yet. People will catch on to putting your head down and going right everytime. He has some talent but he is more of an energy guy off the bench at this point. Othe thn Plumlee I wasn't impressed with the dookies. Not having a floor general also seems to be an issue.

Duke played like a young team last night who melted under the spotlight of a early big time college basketball game. They will be MUCH MUCH better as the season progresses. Only the players with experience played up to the moment last night for them (Jones & Plumlee9)

Yeah the head whip is really annoying and a just a sad tactic. Tyus did it a ton last year and even Duke fans have to see how annoying it is. Both teams will improve but the team basketball is just bad on both ends. Plumlee playing well though and Jones is a solid player.
That "head whip " is supposed to result in a technical foul...looking forward the the first official that had the sack to call it.

I think Duke will evolve this season but their biggest issue is they don't have Okafor to throw it into anymore and don't have a guy that can consistently break down defenses. And there isn't a back to the basket scorer on the roster. Going to be tough to fill that void.
