Got into a bit of discussion over on the "6'10 Walk On" thread and I said that I would like to see Walker Miller develop into the Joe Wolf type player that would simply work hard, play within himself, do the things asked of him by the team and staff and be that blue collar guy that all teams need in practice and in the game that simply out works the other players as opposed to simply being that much more athletically gifted. Which brings me around to the question of who you guys would put on the UNC "All Lunch Bucket Team" ? The players that were not necessarily all that gifted athletically, and may have never made an impact at the next level, but brought the best they had every time they hit the floor.
Think I might start by making T50 the captain of the team cause in my 60+ yrs. I've never seen anyone bloodied like he was in the dook game and still kicking ass and taking names. Big Smooth Sam gets on my team on the front line too .. never flashy .. no emotion .. but could get 15/10 and a couple blocks and you never even remember hearing his name called and money on the line in crunch time. Jackie Manual gets a vote too .. no flash .. no big stat lines but just hit the stance and played a solid game especially on the defensive side of the ball .. might even give a vote for Danny Greene .. even though he did make an impact in the league he was one scrappy ass blue collar player in his time at UNC .. he didn't start out all that great but that man busted ass and he earned his living for sure. And the point guard to lead this all lunch bucket team is none other than our own returning senior Mr. Joel Berry .. I have enjoyed watching "The Nasty Dog" grow during his time here at UNC and he is another player that may never make an impact at the next level but he drove the 2017 team to a National Title .. so he's got to be there.
