And uk goes down again...

They might miss the tournament... If WVU and Vandy didn't blow games against Kentucky, they would 100% be out right now.

Cal gonna try and go coach in the NBA again if this happens next year.

Where are the kids on this roster going? Because he recruits and commits schollies to kids assuming that the ones he has now are one and done. Not enough kids on the roster this year that fit that mold unless he runs some of them off. What a slimy piece of shit. I’m glad they suck.

As a Duke fan, it's always good to see UK go down and look so bad doing so! Good luck the rest of the season, guys. Disappointed you guys got us on Thursday but I'm looking forward to round 2. You guys are clicking right now and we have a lot to work on

Worst thing that happened to Kensucky is that dook go involved in the one and done game. Uk not getting elite players and they will continue to be going down hill for years to come. Could be 2 nit in the last 5 years for those hasbeens.

I watched it tonight and they looked like crap. Especially on defense. Couldnt happen to a better more delusional fan base

Bracketology has them as should be in and I do not know how. They have no top echelon wins. West Virginia being their best.

A couple of okay wins with Rhode Island, Texas A and M, Louisville, and VaTech.

And a host of mediocrity.

Like, how are they even in as of now?

That said, I kind of feel bad for Kentucky fans. It is clear as day their players for the most part only care about the NBA and this is just a forced stop on the way for them. They do not care at all.

I don't know what it is, but over the last few years in particular I really have this strong dislike toward Kentucky and constantly root against them. Alright, I do know, it's Cal, I honestly despise the man more than anything, I could not be happier right now sitting here knowing that his team has lost 3 in a row (should've been 4, but I have a feeling it will happen this week). I can't stand hearing him complain about them, it was your choice to go this way, go coach and teach them, that's your job.

Now that I vented there, any other members of Tar Heel faithful happy that we have Mr. Cam Johnson and not knox. Cam is starting to really gel with our guys, and he really is improving and working hard on the defensive end. He was huge for us against dook and I expect more games like that from him. And he's just an awesome kid with a great attitude, glad to have him be a Heel.

If they get into the tourney with a bad record, it will be because of the name on the front of the jersey. OTOH, Cal has been very clear that he only cares about the name on the back of the jersey. I'm glad he's not our coach.

There's no doubt we did better getting Cam over Knox. I was partying over that last year. I love Cam & hope he is a Tar Heel next year.

As far as Kentucky goes, Cal paying players is further down the list for me than the insane Kentucky fans. How do you do worse than a cheating, sleazy coach? You have fans that stalk referees trying to put him out of business & threaten his family. You also continue to blame refs for every loss & try to invent ways to harm them. When you're not busy doing that, you dream about ways to injure good players on other teams. Cal is having to deal with his one & done failure, but many of their fans are simply insane. Kentucky fans give NCState fans a run for their money for the most clueless & dangerous fans. I think Kentucky may be even worse. They're crazy.

I didn't start hating Kentucky until I started looking at rupp rafters after we beat them last year. That has to be one of the worst fan bases in America. They are a nasty mix of the worst of the dook and state fan bases. They are snobby like a lot of dook fans and ass backwards like a lot of state fans all at the same time. It's really disgusting. I would root for state all day over them. Can't quite do it for dook but it would be close.

I can't stand state at one point I still least respected dooks program... That is until Capel came back with his shanigans and bag men. But I would root for the national taliban team before I root for state or dook

Kentucky will have a tough road game tonight against Auburn. Could be 4 losses in a row.

Roy is the most underrated coach in all of sports. Between the era of OAD and the rough patch of years for the program's recruiting, he continued with his "business" model and just continues to get to Final Fours and win titles. All this while UK and Dook get super recruit after super recruit and continually come up short of expectations.

Yep. K seems to be doing better at getting top-ranked players who are really ready. Cal (like Roy when he gets them) seems to end up with top-ranked players who aren't ready. Good players, but need a year or 2 to develop.

Roy does a better job of developing those players.

Cal has 3 backcourt players coming in. Ranked 13, 15 and 32. Good class. But unless several of his bigs stick around, they could be hurting next year.

He has an offer to EJ. But the 247 consensus leaves UK off the list (and us, too). FWIW. IMO, EJ is another high-ranked player who will need a year or 2 to develop. So even with him, Cal needs several of his bigs to stick around.

NBADraft.net has Knox and Vanderbilt leaving. I'm guessing Richards could go, too, if he wants to. Unlike some, he doesn't shine in multiple areas. But he does where it counts - scoring, rebounding, and size.

Not sure why Vanderbilt is a candidate to go pro. Hasn't played many games, and hasn't stood out.

Even if those guys leave, they have Washington, Gabriel, SKJ, and Wynyard. Roy can vie for championships with guys like that as juniors and soph. Can Cal?

It looks like it won't get any better for them by next year either. What they have coming in next year isn't as good as this year and they have virtually zero targets left, barring an unforeseen Top 15 decommitment. They'll likely lose Shai, Ham, and Knox.

I suppose a sophomore PJ or Vanderbilt would help, assuming they don't squeeze into the first round this year. And neither SKJ or Gabriel have shown vast improvement from their Frosh to Sophomore year.

Barring some major turn around for Kentucky, they’re in deep shit for next year and this year as well. I’m not complaining in the slightest. You reap what you sow, Calipari.

From Rupp Rafters:

"Some of our posters are breaking down and just losing touch with reality. Some think they are Cal. Some think they are Mitch. Others are lost between this world and the other. Some of them are seeing players that have moved on. Some don’t know who Cal is. Some don’t know who they are. Some just don’t know what they don’t know. We need to help them move on to the other side. I love people but some are not people they remind me of farm animals. They just wonder around eating, drinking and pooping all day long. We need to help them. I can’t be helped I’m too far gone. I love Cal, team and UK, which means I’m unusual and not the norm. So many attacks on Cal and this team have made me feel incoherent. Most are young some are old. They know who they are and they can’t hide. The truth will well maybe not. Cal has forgiven them and so has the team. They must live with this burning hate inside their lost souls. Pray for them BBN before we lose them to the dark side. Amen."

At this rate they are playing for a far different seed than they have known in quite some time. Already out of the top 25...only a few games left, not sure how they will finish but goodness, as I stated on this forum, they have 12 kids playing ball without much coaching. Who leaves? Who cares as some of them have s not hown a great deal to move to the next level. He could become know as "force 'em out Cal" soon enough.

I'll take our kids and coach, I like our trajectory.

According to a few people on Rupp Rafters, UK will go 40-0 next year if everyone comes back. You know, just like the Towns / Booker team did.

This is where kids go wrong. Unless you know you are OAD level, you should pick a coach who develops you, not one who markets you.

I'm convinced that Gabriel and SKJ would be doing better here. So would Bolden and DeLaurier, for that matter. Bolden was probably the only one of that group who should have considered himself OAD. Turns out he wasn't but he at least had some justification for thinking so. If not for injuries and being recruited over, he might have made it.

As for UK, they should finish 4-1 in their remaining games. Figuring they lose one of their road games. That leaves them 21-10 and 10-8 in the SEC. As Vanderbilt gets up to speed, they will have better depth up front.
