Anthony Harris

Will be the best pure scorer on the team this season. That backcourt will give other teams fits.
As much as I love your enthusiasm, I think you're way off base here. I see Ant as more of a guy who can do a lot of things. He can defend, rebound, and yes, score when opportunity presents itself. But he's not a guy you run your offense through.

We have a couple of guys on this team that I think will be natural scorers, Caleb and RJ. Yes, both are freshmen, but then this team is going to rely heavily on contributions from freshmen. Whether our fans are comfortable with that or not, it's true.

We have some nice upperclassmen, the best of which is Garrison. Leaky can also play a key role if he can just stay healthy and find some confidence. But I don't think we can count on much from Andrew or Sterling. So like it or not, we will go as far as our sophomores and freshmen can take us. Thank goodness we have some very talented young men stepping into the breech and one of the best staffs in college basketball to lead them.

Cam & RJ both come in with much bigger scoring reps then Ant did out of high school.

This is not last year by any Stretch Even Brooks will have a drop off in production based on talent added...

You are always looking for that one player that's better than advertised and it was Harris last year in his short stint..

but what if its 3 guys this year instead of one that are even more?

should be fun..

Year after year some on here portray talent and skillset on players that make zero sense. Add this one to the list. I’m a big Ant fan. I think he was one of our best defenders and utility guys in the short stint we had him last year. He will be a key piece of our puzzle for years to come. That being said he has never been a pure scorer and won’t magically become one next year.

He will get Playground points , he will have a 20 point game next year and a zero point game..

Anthony Harris will provide needed depth at the 1 and 2 positions. In fact, he has had 2 major surgeries on his knees, and time will tell how much he can contribute to the team. I am cautiously optimistic on his future contributions to the team, but I am not wildly optimistic.

Harris made shots last year. He had a very good FG% . Over 50% certainly. He shot 43% from 3. So if he is not a pure shooter, then he is a contaminated shooter who makes shots

Ant won't be the season long person we can count on for scoring, but he will be a scoring leader for several games! Love me some Smooth! Ant will be an important contributor as a stat stuffer and an example to the youngsters on how to play hard at all times! (all of his stuff is contingent upon health)

1) Smooth’s matter of fact statements are often insane. Maybe it’s intentional for a reaction.

2) Anthony Harris is not a pure shooter. If he’s our best pure shooter then we may be worse from the perimeter than last year.

I certainly see your Point he is a lefty launching it from his shoulder and it does not look like that is a Wayne Ellington looks like all of them are going in stroke..

I would describe Anthony Harris as a "utility player". Like someone else said... he'll have a couple big scoring games, and some goose eggs. We will have a ton of options this season.
Yeah, he’s a glue guy that leads by example, does a little of everything, and provides toughness. I sure wish him a healthy season.

Put in in stone and then put it to rest. Harris will be a spark plug for the team but and you heard it first here Platek will open the season as the STARTING shooting guard . Davis might be a elite scorer but for this season he will be the backup point guard period.

Coach William's is not going to open the season with a all freshmen backcourt starting the game. For some of you you might remember when Ellinton and Lawson came to the hill and did not start immediately as Bobby Frazor got the nod.

If there is a normal season, Platek and all of them will get the normal non conference "chance/look" from Roy. When that time passes, I think RJ and Love will be the preferred tandem in the backcourt.

I think Platek will fit into his spot player role, with some nights being DNP coaches decision.

I actually said Platek would start the season at 2 a while ago. He will and that is as close to 100% as possible right now! Brooks, Bacot, and Love are locks as well. 3 is the only position I see as up in the air and I believe it is around 85% Leaky! BUT: the one thing I feel Roy will adjust based on last year is he will have a much shorter leash on peeps like Platek and Bacot than he has in the past! Ant and Leaky's health; peeps performing in practice; injury; any further defections could change things dramatically, however!

I will be absolutely shocked if Platek starts game 1 next season, Roy will give him the shot but I don't see him able to beat out either RJ or Walton.

But good old Bobby could throw it in the ocean. I don’t mind if Andrew starts but he’d better bow up and at least make wide open shots or it’s gonna be a boring season for him.

No one is ever going to confuse Platek with Frasor, ever! If he hadn't hurt his knee, Bobby would have been a really good player. Even after the bad knee injury, he was twice the player Andrew is. No offense to Andrew, but that's a fact.

I agree.

Fixed it for you.

I wouldn't call being on a Final Four team boring.

If those two show an aptitude for defense then they will be hard to keep off the floor. That they can score is a bonus.

Walton and RJ will be on the floor quite a bit! Their D and comprehension of the O will determine how quickly their minutes ramp up. If Platek does not find his shot (and he will get ample opportunity), he will see his minutes dwindle. BUT: I believe RJ is too valuable as primary backup at PG to be a starter at 2! And Walton will need time to acclimate to this level and Roy won't rush to put pressure on him. A major aspect of Roy's genius is he will not risk long term confidence issues with a player for short term team goals! PT is not either/or this season! I believe Roy will go deeper than usual because last year proves his strategy of coaching peeps up through early playing time is the right move. If he hadn't done this our team would never have made the run we did at the end of last season! He basically transformed Keeling from pauper to prince right before our eyes! (BTW: I expect Walton to follow a similar trajectory to CK but a bit faster!)
