Atlanta gets the 2019 Super Bowl

I just hope the Rams Club isn't in charge of the tickets for it. I'd like to have a snowballs chance at actually getting tickets.

Me too. With Atlanta's Mercedes Benz stadium being new in 2017 and costing 1.4 billion, I doubt a ticket will be under 3 grand lol. Maybe we will get lucky.

The Tar Heels need to make it to the National Championship in 2018 since it will be in Atlanta. I'll HAVE to be there if that happens.

The state is handling the ticket distribution. They are offering them to people who grew up in Atlanta first. Once those three people decide if they are going to buy tickets, they will go on sale to the general public.

I'm not sure I would go to the Super Bowl even if one of y'all bought my ticket and drove me there.

Not for me! February weather sucks and if its raining or snowing forget about it. I like to sit and have my beer without a coat on and without rain in it, plus the hair issue.... Ughhh cringe o_O

I don't have an aversion to indoor football however I have zero desire to ever attend the Super Bowl. First of all, I cannot imagine what a cluster f**k any city is that is hosting the Super Bowl. And the event itself is so commercialized now that it's hardly even about football anymore. Lastly, as I say with many sporting events, the cozy confines of my basement are so much more appealing to me than being at the game and dealing with all the mess. If I had to pick, the conference championship games are usually a much better watch.

It's on my secondary bucket list, meaning I want to go to one, but I'm not going to make a special trip to go see it. As far as it being a cluster f**k I'll let you know if I'm still in Atlanta.

All valid points, yes. I lived in Atlanta for a while and that was many years ago before it got to the craziness it is now with people every damn where. I enjoy driving down though and seeing friends though. For me it would just be simply going to the game as I am close enough to not have to stay overnight and if I did, I have friends down there to stay with. I have been to a few of the NFL games there and it does get quite crowded for them so I imagine the Super Bowl will be that times a 1000. I doubt I'd get a ticket anyway and IF Tom Brady is playing in it and NOT one of my fave teams, I wouldn't waste my money anyway.

I was in ATL back in 2007 for the Final Four and that was just amazing and I really will try to go to one of those again if UNC is in it again. I think Atlanta has that again in 2020???? or somewhere in that general area give or take a year.

If Clemson is playing for the National title again, I might have to rethink it.... That is where I am from and those fans are cray-cray!!!! LOL (My family is HUGE Clemson fans, so I can say this!)

I figure you wouldn't waste your money if Brady was playing against one of your fave teams, as you wouldn't want to see them lose. What's the root of the Brady hate?

Tom says hi by the way:

I was at the Championship Game and have the exact opposite opinion. Football stadiums are no place to watch a basketball game because the seats are entirely too far away and/or the sightlines are garbage. It's cool to say I've been to one, but if I have the chance to watch UNC play in another FF I might have to take a pass.

That's why I prefer the second tier/front rows of the sideline seats. The third tier in the GA Dome is just way too far up. I sat at some NFL games near the 50 yd line on the third row, field level and that was a bit hard for me to see too... I did get to flirt with some football players though! yum! :)

It's a retractable roof, so it has the ability to be outdoor football as well.

But it has the ability to be indoor football, and that's the problem.

As I'm sure we all remember, the Panthers played the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII at Reliant Stadium in Houston on February 1, 2004. According to Weather Underground, the mean temperature for that day in Houston was 56 degrees with zero precipitation. Perfect weather for outdoor football, but you better know the NFL ordered the retractable roof closed for the game.

Blasphemy!!
