Frank Beamer to retire after the season

Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, the longest tenured FBS head coach at one program, is planning to retire at the end of the season according to Mike Jurecki, who covers the team.

Beamer has been the head coach at Virginia Tech since 1987 and holds an impressive record of 234-120-2 with the Hokies.
Virginia Tech has started the 2015 season 3-5.
The opening will mark the ninth FBS head coaching opening before the season joining Miami, UCF, USC, South Carolina, Maryland, Illinois, Minnesota, and North Texas.
