Indeed…Perkins and Worthy were a good pairing.
I’m watching the 2012 Duke game now and that was the inspiration for the post! 😎Zeller and Henson was a great 4-5 combo.
Umm... Sam & James.Open for discussion.
...with due props to McAdoo/Chamberlain, Kupchak/Lagarde, and then Lagarde/O'Koren.Umm... Sam & James.
PG: McInnisWho played the 5? Stack?
Got itPG: McInnis
SG: Williams
SF: Calabria
PF: Stackhouse
C: Sheed
Was Carter a PF? I assumed Wing/SFMeeks and Hicks were not bad as a duo, but I would guess either Perkins/Worthy or Jamison/Carter.
Jamison/Carter was never the 4/5 combo.Meeks and Hicks were not bad as a duo, but I would guess either Perkins/Worthy or Jamison/Carter.
How could I forget about Haywood.Jamison/Carter was never the 4/5 combo.
You had Jamison/Zwikker. You had Jamison/Ndiaye. You had Jamison/Haywood. And occasionally Okulaja/Jamison thanks to the alphabetic rotation Gut used.
The problem was Guthridge road his 6 starters pretty hard, and Haywood only averaged 8 mins per game the one season he played with Antawn. How could I forget about Haywood.
Jamison/Haywood ain't bad either, especially figuring Haywood would have a long NBA career
Hands down. That was a truly great team that exemplified the inside out UNC game. Of course there were others but those 2 complimented one another so well no doubt.Perkins and Worthy were a good pairing.
correctWas Carter a PF? I assumed Wing/SF
Man .. I remember that game. Talk about playing with effort and intensity that was some top shelf UNC basketball. Stack and Sheed were one helluva pair no doubt !!
didn’t hurt having Marvin Williams as the backup 4. Liked Jawad a lot, he went through a lot at UNC and glad he was able to finish with a ring.Jawad Williams and May were the Perfect match.
Better than any duo when it comes to fit.
Worthy has 3 NBA rings. Wallace has 1. Both Perkins and Stack played in NBA finals but never won a title. I think you have to give the edge to Worthy & Perkins. Imagine if Sheed & Stack had hung around Carolina for another year or two. The greatest team that could have been:Worthy #1 NBA draft
Perkins #4 (behind Jordan) NBA draft
Wallace pick #4
Stackhouse #3
Close call though Worthy and Perkins won a Natty.
McInnis has no G in his last nameWorthy has 3 NBA rings. Wallace has 1. Both Perkins and Stack played in NBA finals but never won a title. I think you have to give the edge to Worthy & Perkins. 1996/1997 UNC Tarheels
PG- Jeff McGinnis
SG - Vince Carter
SF - Antawn Jamison
PF - Jerry Stackhouse
C - Rasheed Wallace
Ed Cota
Shammond Williams
Ademola Okulaja
Serge Zwikker
Scary team. Dean’s last year would have been a memorable one.
Or Noel/Hansbrough? Tough call tween those two. Still not as great as some of the other combos.Wright/Hansbrough
No disrespect to Noel, but Wright's talent far exceeded his.Or Noel/Hansbrough? Tough call tween those two. Still not as great as some of the other combos.
Cota over McInnis all day everyday. The alley oops with that line would be greatWorthy has 3 NBA rings. Wallace has 1. Both Perkins and Stack played in NBA finals but never won a title. I get what you’re saying but Ed Cota was a freshman during the 1996/1997 season. He comes off the bench with Jeff McInnis as a Senior.Cota over McInnis all day everyday.
McInnis never makes it to his senior year at UNC. I suspect you're well aware why he was run off.I get what you’re saying but Ed Cota was a freshman during the 1996/1997 season. He comes off the bench with Jeff McInnis as a Senior.
