Nominate your choices for best and worst bands/musicians beginning with the letter H.
Best: Hendrix. Period.
Worst: Hanson
Heart's first 3-4 albums were pretty good but by the time MTV rolled around and they morphed into a pseudo-hair band, their songs got too poppy schloppy. Don't get me wrong, Ann and Nancy looked damn good in those videos but the songs were lame compared to Barracuda.
Best: Hootie and the Blowfish
Worst: Hannah Montana
(Ok, yes, Hendrix is the true best, but I thought of Hootie yesterday, and I was putting it no matter what because I like Hootie, so deal with it)
Chalk it up to me being a 90's kid, but I really like Cracked Rear View. Could have been worse, could have put Hanson for best (not that I actually would have, just saying)
Nah, I legit like Huey Lewis and the News, I was like you, not sure if they counted today, but I thought since it was a band name that it could sneak in.Best: Hendrix, Huey Lewis and the News (not sure if this should be H or L since it is a name but also kind of a band name), Heart
People will make fun of Huey Lewis and Heart but I couldn't care less. They have some good stuff.
Can't really think of a worst.
I liked it initially but it got so much freaking airplay that i can't listen to it ever again.Chalk it up to me being a 90's kid, but I really like Cracked Rear View. Could have been worse, could have put Hanson for best (not that I actually would have, just saying)
That's fair, I've had that happen with a number of songs/artists.I liked it initially but it got so much freaking airplay that i can't listen to it ever again.
Worst one hit (or should I say one shit wonder)... Rupert Holmes "Pina Colada Song".
Best: The Highwaymen, The Head and The Heart, Holy Ghost Tent Revival
Worst: Husker Du, The Human League
Might be unpopular given the board's general feelings on country, but Merle Haggard is pretty great as well
Hendrix has some cool songs, but he was before my time. (be gentle)

Good call. Forgot all about her.I don't think she's been mentioned yet, but I think Lauryn Hill deserves a shoutout.
I couldn't tell Eric Church from Jason Aldean or whatever as far as mainstream country goes, but I listen to Outlaw Country on Sirius XM in my truck all the time and I really like that. Lot of Waylon ,Merle, Willie, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Wylie Hubbard, but newer people too like James McMurtry, John Fulbright, Hayes Carll, Jason Isbell. Some of you guys may like some of it.I like some of that country. It is basically everything in the last 20 years or so that I think is awful.
