I feel like this thread is unintentionally punishing those solo artists who weren't born with cool names. Thus, since the thread title included names of albums, I'm gonna throw out one from one of favorite artists, James Taylor:

Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon
great artist and album!!

New Riders of the Purple Sage

Living and dying in 3/4 Time

Kentucky Headhuntrs

Teaser and the Firecat
Tea for the Tillerman (both great albums and covers as well)

Loaded Goat.

Not famous, an Americana/Bluegrass/Country act from Kansas City I think. I also think there was a band in NC that used the name briefly about 10 years ago.

My first name is Guy so I’m fond of Buddy Guy
there used to be an annual summer event at the old Bulls ballpark in Durham called the Bull City Blues Festival (IIRC), and it at one time had some decent entertainment and several stages. One year Buddy Guy was there and I went expecting a huge crowd for his performance. Instead there were only maybe a few hundred and I managed to be almost right up front. Thrill of a lifetime for me, I had actually considered going to Chicago to see him in his club as well as some others. And yeah, he played his ass off for not a really long set but enough to make me keep pinching myself that I was seeing what I considered to be an all time top 5 (or so) guitarist so up close.
