Vince is the best dunker ever. I don't know who's second, but he's not close to Vince.
Also - when is that picture from? Everyone in it is dressed horribly.

Got to give it to the Godfather of the dunk, Dr. J. He is the one that really started it all.

All of them except the Dr. have North Carolina ties: MJ and Vince were Heels of course, Dominique is from NC*, and Kobe was originally drafted by the Hornets.
*Dominique's HS team (Washington, NC) beat my HS for the state title back in 78 or 79.
When I used to follow NBA, Dr. J and the Sixers were my favorite team.

Vince would rank 1-5. That dunk in the Olympics was crazy and he had one of the best, if not the best, NBA dunk contest performances in history.

When you dunk over a 7 footer off of maybe 5 steps to build momentum, yeah you're gonna be at the top of that list. Some of the dunks Vince made in-game are hard to pull off with noone else on the court.
I have no clue what Georgia said to Wilkins to lure him away - especially from a basketball rich state only to reside in a basketball wasteland. GTech at the time was the ACC doormat and UGa was a perennial football school. A little before my time but I’v been told on several occasions that his family were run out of the state for not choosing a North Carolina school.
I’m not saying he was paid, but it’s a huge head scratcher why someone as gifted as him would go to a school who had NEVER made the NCAA tournament at the time.
Imagine in ‘81 Jimmy Black, Al Wood, Dominique, Worthy and Perkins.

We could have very well been looking at not only back to back National Titles, but back to back undefeated seasons.
