Now that it is off season I think I will finally use my Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu. So what are some good shows to check out? What is your favorite show of all time? Mine is Breaking Bad. I also have enjoyed House of Cards, Scandal and The Good Wife. If I can't find a good one I guess I'll watch Frasier again lol... Love that one too. Any good documentaries???

For starters, I would say since you've watched Breaking Bad, you should watch Better Call Saul if you haven't already. Season 1 is on Netflix or Prime, can't stream season 2 yet though, it just finished tonight. I would also second Justified, Daredevil and Firefly as good options if you haven't already seen them. Firefly only had one season and a followup movie named Serenity, so that one shouldn't be too hard to go through.

Not sure which Netflix originals you've watched, but I'd recommend Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (second season debuted this weekend, haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I really liked the first season), Jessica Jones (I'd watch Daredevil first, but this was really good as well) and Arrested Development (this is a semi-original, but one of the best comedies ever imo).

If you're looking for comedies, I recommend the following which are all streaming on either Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or HBO Go/Now: The Office (both US and UK versions), Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, Bob's Burgers, South Park, Silicon Valley, Veep, Eastbound and Down, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Community, Flight of the Conchords, Freaks & Geeks, Scrubs or Louie.

If you're looking for dramas, you can't go wrong with The Wire, The Sopranos, Deadwood, Fargo, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, or Mad Men.

So, there you go, my general "shot in the dark" recommendations, I figure you have to have seen at least a few, but maybe there's something helpful in there.

Wow I do have some options then. I did LOVE The Sopranos and I have Better Call Saul on my list. I guess I'm looking for a show that will give me that same captivating adrenaline rush that Breaking Bad gave me. I was so addicted to that show and went through DTs when it was over lol.

I haven't seen those comedies yet so will check some out. Thanks for the recommendations

No problem at all. I would say if you're looking for the "absolutely have to watch the next one" feeling that Breaking Bad gave you, from the ones I mentioned, I'd say check out The Wire, Justified, Daredevil and Game of Thrones if you haven't already seen those. They are all shows where I would sit and watch several in a row. I also would say Sherlock is a good option because there are only like 10 total episodes (each is 90 minutes) but you can knock that one out quickly.

Better Call Saul is a different kind of show than Breaking Bad, I still think it's really good, but there's not the same "urgency" of story because the stakes are different. There's a lot of really cool easter eggs in there, but because it's a prequel, you know Saul and other characters you see on Breaking Bad are going to survive.

Suits is a cool show that is on Amazon Prime. Cool characters and pretty entertaining without being real heavy.

Watching and enjoying Suits now, midway through season 2.

Next up are Luke Cage and the second season of Bosch.

Still wish I had another season of Justified to watch.
I really really liked Luke Cage. Of course, I'm a big Marvel fan, as I've poasted on here before, but the TV shows (especially the Netflix ones) are really well done, and I like that they have a darker tone than the movies. If you watched/enjoyed either or both Daredevil and Jessica Jones, you should like Luke Cage.

I'm with you on Justified, great show, and I'll tell you, if you're missing Walton Goggins (Boyd), check out Vice Principals on HBO. It's a different kind of character for him (just as despicable in some ways), but it's a pretty funny show. It's 9 half hour episodes so far, pretty easy binge watch.

I wouldn't mind checking that one out, but I'll have to wait until it's available somewhere other than just HBO.
That's understandable. An interesting thing about the show is that they filmed 18 episodes all at once, and that's going to be the whole thing. They basically acted like they were filming a 9 hour movie. Season 1 ends with a cliff-hanger, and when people asked Danny McBride when we'll find out what happened, he said HBO could put it on the air that day, because they had all the episodes already.

Also on a binge watching note, I watched the first season of Mr. Robot, gotta catch season 2 now. That show is really interesting, very well made, but it's so tonally different than the other shows on USA I've watched (Suits and Burn Notice). Much darker than those. But Rami Malek and Christian Slater have been really good on it, looking forward to watching the 2nd season soon.

Serious question, how do you guys find the time to watch all this? I'm 66 years old and I would love to be able to watch a whole series like that. I guess at my age you can't stay awake long enough in the evenings to binge watch...lol

I'm 51 and I fall asleep all the time and have to rewatch everything lol

off season of what? The New TV season is just starting.

Maybe you should watch Catfish.

Seriously, I would say 'Jericho' and 'Broadchurch' in terms of ones not listed. 'American Horror Story' is always a winner with me as well.

My job comes with hours of down time. When we're in a training cycle it's 24/7 for the most part and there are times when I don't see home for days. But when we're between rotations there's plenty of time to just sit around, lay around and play moderator. I have a 38" computer monitor at work that's great for binging.

I do watch this show, certain seasons are really good, others not so much. I am curious to see what the "turn" will be this season because they've been hyping that up pretty hard

I don't really binge, it's more like one episode (or less) at a time when I have a rare moment alone, like at lunch or nighttime baby feedings, etc.
That dang avatar! I saw this and thought what the hell, Strum doesn't binge watch, feed babies and has more free time than anyone I know lol

Y'all are messing me up with his avatar!

I have only seen the first two seasons and loved both of them. I've heard 3 is awful though. I like this season so far but not sure I like it as much as the first two.

The first two are the best in my mind. Of the completed seasons, I would go from best to worst: 2 (Asylum), 1 (Murder House), 5 (Hotel), 3 (Coven), 4 (Freak Show). 3 has moments that are good (Kathy Bates has one scene that is still among my favorites), but it lacks real consequence, which in turn makes every potential bad thing feel hollow. The jury is still out on this season, because everything I've read makes it seem like we're about to have a very bizarre turn in how it looks and everything, so it'll be interesting.
