Even though Carolina doesn't play today, this is a big day for UNC football, though more so for next season.

Three Coastal Division teams play bowl games today: Duke-Indiana; VT-Tulsa; and Miami-Washington State

Not that beating any of those foes will change anyone's perception of the ACC, but losses sure would hurt. However, going into next season when UNC's schedule is examined, the more teams coming off of bowl wins the more the depth of the slate can be pushed.

And, as the Coastal tries to change its image, if all Coastal teams can win their bowl games - and each is plenty capable of doing just that - it's something division members and the league can publicize.

So, while many of you have legitimate reasons to root against the Blue Devils, Hokies and Hurricanes, you might also want to consider the alternative. The bottom line is the ACC winning outside the league never hurts the Heels.
