Huge test and game for our Tar Heels tomorrow night. A win could really set us up for controlling our destiny for an ACC regular season title. 3 big games on the schedule, but none bigger than tomorrow night right now.

Thoughts on keys to the game for us? Really going to need our front court players to play well and stay out of foul trouble against a team like Louisville.

Clearly rebounding the ball is going to be huge, it may be the single most important key to this one. Close to that has to be containing Mitchel, hopefully Theo's length will help that, Nate trying to check Mitchel at 6'3" and around 210lbs is a concern IMO, I would like to see BRob coming in for Theo for his length.

We need to take good shots and that is never easy against a Pitino defense, big to big passing may be needed more than in some games, they have a good bit of front court length and bring good length off the bench as well.

Very important we get a great game from Joel, both defending and hitting some can opener jumpers. Like to see him set up his jumpers with a couple early drives so he can get defenders hands down and weight back to splash the jumpers. Of course Justin has to shoot it well, let Theo set the table and everyone else find scoring position with hands ready.

I've watched "Lewis"ville a few times, they are long, we should pound it to our bigs, run our sets early to see what we got, then turn loose JBII and JJ with dribble drive penetration, and set TP up top for passes to the big kids, secondary could be huge for us.
It is a beautiful game, hope the kids are ready. That and we have a short turn then wait a week for the evils.

This one certainly has stacked out as a monster game for a variety of reasons. No doubt.

Anytime we play Louisville the keys are pretty much the same.
1. Protect the defensive glass --- they'll climb our backs like randy dogs and we have to be proactive and strong
2. Play our tempo. Yeah, everyone says Louisville likes faster tempos but they ain't as good at it as we are. Cannot let them ugly up the game. What they want more than tempo is a street-fight.
3. A reasonably fair zebra crew. Just telling it like it is folks. it's a particularly big issue in this game. Louisville will foul the damned cheerleaders given the chance. Just call it straight.
4. Be strong with the ball and finish thru contact.
5. Make shots. Seriously... if we knock down our open looks at home we will be awfully hard for anyone to handle.

While this is the biggest game to date the "Biggest Game of the Year" is yet to come no matter what happens Wednesday night.

True, there are a lot more worthy candidates for "biggest" game of the year.

I do think it's the most important game, as it will probably decide our seeding come March.

Not even sure that's true. ACC tournament is going to be HUGE!

I believe that short of an ACCT or NCAAT title game; our 2 against puke are the biggest! This game is very important I admit, but I really want some pay back against the pukies! Don't care about seeding as I think with a little effort we are locked into the 1/2 line.

It's obviously the biggest game to date. After we win it, the next game will be the biggest game to date. And so on. It's that time of the year.

I think we're going to whip Louisville tomorrow. I think we've focused and everyone knows how important this stretch run is. In fact, I'll go on record and say that I think we'll win the remaining regular season games and I think we'll look impressive doing it (and I'll also go on record by saying I think we lose in the tournament semis).

The biggest key IMO(along with JBerry being himself)

We don't need a Jamie Luckie or Mike Eades crew. :(

ball handling..watch for turnovers that lead to layups(either team)...will this team be defensive minded again?

I think this is totally reasonable GSD, and totally agree with this assessment. Which is fine with me, we'll have won the regular season and be arguably top 5 and on a 7 game win streak before that semi game. We may need a loss right there to refocus before the big show.

Big game at home the boys will deliver. I actually think the small ball lineup will give Louisville fits. I hope they try to press UNC.

From a rivalry stand point of course any time UNC and duke play it is both teams "BIG GAME". But...the real test is when the 2 best teams in the ACC play and in most seasons that is UNC and duke but I don't think that was true last season or this one because I don't believe duke was one of the 2 best teams in the ACC last season or this one. Last season, IMO the 2 best ACC teams were UNC and UVa, this season replace UVa with Louisville.

What would you call it when the 2 best teams in the ACC face each other? If not the big game would you call it the most important game to date? This is a clash between #1 and #2 in the ACC and #2 has already beaten duke and we have not. IMO, as a team matching up against us, IMO Louisville is a much tougher match up problem for us than any other ACC team this season, it is a game we have to bring our A game to because this Louisville team doesn't usually play clunker games.

#1 in the ACC for now is definitely on the line, #1 seeding in the ACCT could well be on the line with this game, and #1 seeding in the NCAAT could as well be on the line with tonight's game. So if this is not the Big Game what would you call it? Looks pretty darn big to me...

Those sound like alternative facts to me! There can be no bigger game than the attempt to triumph over the evil empire! I will say that this game does have a level of importance for this season, but the struggle against the devil is eternal!

Go Tar Heels!

The biglyness of this game comes from the idea that the winner is on the path to a Reg.season championship and an ACCT #1 seed. But how, in good conscience, can peeps say it is biglyer than the impending beat down of rat nation?

TP, I feel ya man but here is my thing, I love us to beat duke, I hate when we don't, they are our main rival and there isn't a lot better than beating our main rival. Notice I said there was not a lot rather than saying there isn't anything better, because there are a few things better. I would rather win the ACC regular season and lose to duke twice than beat duke twice and not win the ACC regular season. Being the best IMO trumps anything else. Getting to the final 4, getting in to the natty game, winning the natty game, all trumps beating duke UNLESS we beat them for those things!

WE are not NC State, our season does not hinge on beating our main rival, we have higher standards, we have bigger goals. Oh it is very sweet to achieve our goals AND put the beating duke cherry on top but beating duke is not all we can dream of as UNC fans. NC State fans only dream of beating UNC in anything because they know dreaming of more usually becomes a nightmare, truth is even the beating UNC is usually a nightmare unless it is a tractor pull. LOL

Not by a very long shot. Well said. dook is merely a pothole in the road to winning the ACC and the NCAAT. Granted, a big pothole, but a pothole nonetheless.

BUT, let's say we find a way to beat LVille tonight and do not drop a game until we see duke in that regular season ending game and duke does the same. I think that would put duke one game behind us going in to that final game and if we won that we would be the out right regular season champs, lose it we tie for first but duke has the tie breaker on us for top ACCT seeding. That would make that last regular season game vs duke a mega mega huge game!
