In my lifetime, Carolina has won 6 national championships - 5 when I was paying attention.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a team comprised solely of UNC ring-holders.

Be sure to indicate your starters and first couple off the bench.

This isn't easy, in part, because some of the guys who will jump to mind never won a ring.

So . . . no Kendall or Marcus, just to pick 2.

Yet even when you are only choosing among those who went all the way, it's really hard to narrow it down.

George Lynch (1993) is the only guy not from 1982 or 2009. It was hard to do but nobody from 2005 or 2017. Sorry to the 1957 guys. Just don’t know enough, but Lennie Rosenbluth deserves honorable mention.

Sad some of my favorite UNC players don’t have rings. Ed Cota, Antawn Jamison and Vince Carter are the first to come to mind. That 1998 team should have won a title. That loss to Utah still hurts.

I'm convinced a healthy 1977 squad wins it all.

Maybe the 2012 squad, too, but UK was mighty good.
