In Nov. 2017 I finally opened one of the Directv emails that showed what we pay each month. We have had Directv for at least 6 yrs and my wife pays the bills so I had no clue what we were paying each month. I opened the email and it said 193 dollars a month of which 60 dollars was equipment rental fees ! So I canceled and got directvnow.com streaming service. Currently paying 10 a month for 60 plus channels under a 25 dollar discount.
Directnow has 4 packages 60+ channels at a regular price of 35, 80+ for 60 a month , 120 + for 70 and 130+ for 80 . So out of the 130+ I identified 36 channels that my family would have any interest at all in. The 35 dollars a month plan had 30 of the channels that I need with the one I wanted but did not get under that plan being Nat. Geo Wild, Espn U , Nick Toons , FXM , CBS sports , FS2 , of these 6 I would not watch much of their content so no big deal.
So the 60+ deal is saving me about 160 bucks a month and recently got about a 60 dollar discount a month on my internet. If you have Directv or Cable take a look at the streaming service Directv now can save you a lot of cash each month with no down side for me personally.

Yeah, I pay 199 for DTV. I love all I have though. I can watch basically any sporting event I want. We have two DVR boxes and another box downstairs in the basement that I use when I grill. It's a lot but worth it for me.

I moved last year and the new internet cable threw a ridiculous package at me for home security, internet, and cable. All 3 we’re gonna be cheaper than DTV.

I regret it. I’m gonna switch back and pay a lot more for a better picture, customer service, options, etc.

I put an antenna on my tv for local channels. Also I have an apple tv and use my iphone as a hotspot for it. I pay for unlimited data on my phone (which i was already doing before i unplugged) and subscribe to hulu and netflix thru the apple tv. Cut about $150/mo off my bills. Also i can mirror my iphone through the apple tv which enables me to view anything on tv that i can pull up on my phone. Handy for certain uh.....educational channels.

The only problem with that is you have to have a crappy phone to use it

Currently I get 60 plus channels on Directvnow , plus HBO package for additional 5 dollars and I am getting a 25 dollar discount per month so I am paying 15 dollars a month. I pay about 12 dollars a month for 4 streams at a time of Netflix. I switched to Metro pcs and got a year of free amazon prime and I pay 6 bucks a month for Hulu and 6 bucks a month for cbs all access. that is enough video to satisfy my family of 6 and save me some money.

Can you pay for the app once and use multiple TVs/devices on it?

Currently you can watch on 2 tvs at once , 2 different streams. I have heard they are going to add a 3 stream per account. They are doing a beta test on a cloud based dvr right now.

I like the cheap stream services so much I don't think I will ever go back to Directv or spectrum. Currently paying 10 for directvnow stream , 12 for netflix , 5.99 for hulu , got a year free of prime with my cheap Metro pcs phone and 5.99 for cbs all access and 5 for HBO. So 39 bucks for all of this compared to about 220 before.
