Cade Tyson

But we don't have NIL money, more like we don't have anyone smart enough to know how to use it.
If you were the booster that funded the acquisition of Cade, would you ever give to this coaching staff again given how your money was wasted due to poor evaluation of a kid that cannot play at this level? That is a lot of money and zero return on investment.

Absolutely that might be an answer to why boosters are not wanting to part with money right now.

If I was a booster with heeps of money and I disliked the hire like i did my money would have stopped completely the day he was hired, then after the first season I would have said, I was wrong and spent again and then after the second season I would have been done for good till he was fired.

Shelby, now you are sneaking in to what I have been hearing, there have been some boosters that have been shy with the dollars, NOTE the 2 words "have been" as opposed to "right now". There seems to have been a major change in that, change that may have crystallized of all things by our hiring a football coach. There seems to be a ripple effect that has changed the picture a good bit. I am hesitant right now to join the feeding frenzy of demanding Hubert be fired today because I am curious what the next portal may look like for us going in with much deeper pockets.

Hubert, in this past portal was selling, son we may be $1 million less than those other programs in our upfront NIL but you will make that up and then some because of the stage and spot light we will give you. The reply was that is cool coach but we are talking a MILLION BUCKS, I like ya coach but a million bucks is a million bucks and you are asking me to spend a million bucks to play for you, good luck selling that, LOL?

If we do have a new commitment to NIL, I would pose this question - What have we seen over the last four years to make us confident Hubert can develop and coach up a team full of good players? I witnessed a preseason #1 team opt out of the NIT and I can’t not remember that happened. This year appears to be another example of a top 10 preseason team that will miss the ncaa tournament.

Very fair points, he also led a flawed roster that was awful the year before, with a mass portal exodus find their groove and get to the National Championship game. He had 1 year portal adds last year that meshed and overachieved to many as a 1 seed, and lost a one bucket here or there game to Bama the final 4 squad in the sweet 16.

That would be the conundrum.😆

"What have we seen over the last four years to make us confident Hubert can develop and coach up a team full of good players?" Not enough to be rock solid confident, I hope you didn't expect me to say anything other than that? LOL

But while most were happy with how we played last season, winning the ACC regular season championship, being the #1 over all seed in the last NCAAT, Hubert being named ACC COY... Most seemed really please at all that, most only got pissed when we lost that game to bama. But me, I didn't like the decisions that were made, I was not the happy camper most others seemed to be. I saw no reason we were as small as we were, I wanted Ingram at the 3, JWash at the 4 (or JWit), with Bacot and frankly, I may have started Cormac over RJ at the 2, with Cadeau at the point. Can you see how much longer that would have made us, we would have had a size advantage at every position other than at the point. And as I have said so many times, size matters in sex and basketball! The bigger you are in either, the more you score! LOL

05champs, this was all set in motion once the portal season ended. Hard for me to believe there is anyone that follows this stuff closely that didn't realize that our being so badly under sized was a monster of a problem that required a radical departure from anything we have seen since Hubert took over and who expected that from Hubert?

You know even thought last year was okay and they did accomplish some of what their team goals were, am I the only one that felt like they were still underachieving for what was a very solid roster?

Honestly, have we lowered our standards so much as to a Sweet 16 run after a ACC regular season championship is Carolina basketball good?

No one here would have been please with last season with those players if Roy or Dean was the coach, am I wrong?

We lost an ACC tournament game to a team that we had already beat 2 time and we lost in the Sweet 16 and Hubert got severely out coached.

We lost those 2 games because we got out coached, and it's not even debatable.

With all this talk about what Tyson is getting paid or what someone else didn’t get to come here I have a question. I have no inside info so relying on all of the “experts” here. What is dook paying all of their players? Each year they are at the top of the charts in recruiting. Jw what the going rate is for their top talent. I know those guys didn’t choose dook by of sh**face being such a great coach.

Express lane to the NBA pretty simple

So as of now it's fair to say CT was a miss. Could this change? If you look at his historic, body of work, he seems more like a streaky shooter that CAN light it up but with less demanding competition. I was skeptical about the investment but honestly, I thought due to my limited experience and knowledge, I just second guessed myself and then became excited about the potential of having a game changing shooter added to this team. Is it possible he could develop into a major contributor or will he be a designated practice asset OR, will he be shown the door? Will adding some quality inside presence possibly change his level of contribution? I think adding a quality big or two will help EC really shine and help increase the contribution of others?

As I said, I think you agree, I am that guy that so many times right here on radar beat the same drum, that it felt to me like NO ONE was listening to, I did not like or agree with many of the decisions. As soon as Ingram committed to us, I was EXCITED, I was because we brought in the SMALL forward we needed, my wanted line up didn't change from the first practice until the end of that bama game. I invite anyone to go check that, the ONLY difference is starting Ryan over RJ, I was not upset that RJ started but 2 small back court guards will scare the heck out of me every time.

OK, so I am going to say something that will very likely draw a lot of heat, I already assume I may be the ONLY person here wiling to say such a thing but so be it. I am simply not the biggest fan of RJ Davis, I have alluded to this in the past in many different ways without just coming out and saying it, but yeah, there it is. He for me is a VERY and I mean VERY poor copy of Joel Berry, like the 1,000th copy of the original. Frankly if I were Hubert he would have transferred after last season, if he didn't transfer he would be coming off my bench right now. Just my opinion and not intended to upset anyone but I am not gonna lie either.

RJ is the perfect player for the right roster, he need enough presence inside to make guards to have to drop off of him to double the post on the strong side.

Honestly he would be a perfect pro if he was 6'5" he fits the pro game way better than a flawed undersized college roster.
